Which DOHC V-6? Back in the ninety's when 3.0 engines came in 300ZX and Maxima Sedans. Two different driving styles here. And three different 3.0 engines. Engine notation VE30E DOHC chain driven cams Variable valve timing Maxima motor ahead of its time. and two belt driven 300ZX motors VG30DE and the Turbocharged VG30DET motor All the above engines last a long time providing the air filter is changed and oil is kept clean. Some of my 1991 maxima VE30DE owners have 400,000 miles on there cars. LONG LASTING ENOUGH? Most of the 300Z owners wish they kept a second car to just drive to car shows and one for the street and track. 300ZX cars engines see higher rpms and the valve train being belt driven can get out of time killing the engine. But some with proper maintence see very high mileage. Almost none of the high mile cars I work on use any oil.
