As long as you are going darker, there is no reason why you can't dye your hair again the next day (you could even do it the same day), espescially since you are using semi-permanent dye. You would want to wait if you were going lighter, because of the strength of the chemicals need to lighten hair. The white stuff you mix the color with is called developer. Developer is basically peroxide. It opens the cuticle of the hair to allow the color to penetrate the hair. Semi-permanent dyes only use a 10 volume developer (10% peroxide), where as, permanent dye that is medium to dark use 20 volume developer (20% peroxide). To lighten hair, 30 or 40 volume developer (30%/40% peroxide) is used, or 20 volume mixed with a lightener or bleach is used. The stronger the developer is, the more damaging it is. You should also know that permanent dye will turn out darker that the box or the swatch is (a medium brown shade could turn out almost black), so pick a shade lighter than what you think you want. Semi-permanent dye starts to fade as soon as you wash it, so if it is too dark, it will lighten up within a few shampoos. Hope that helps you out some.
p.s. If your hair is healthy, you would have to do a lot to it to make it fall out. That usually only happens to people who don't know what they are doing, and don't follow the directions.

OK don't listen to everyone else,If you aren't happy with the color then you CAN dye in the next day. I have done it a hundred times and my hair is in good shape,my hair hasn't fallen out,it doesn't look like straw. Everyone thinks if you dye it without waiting another 6 weeks then something bad will happen. Trust me it won't. If you want to dye it a more beautiful color I say Hell Yeah,go for it! ;p

This is actually ok. Semi Permanent hair color does not have peroxide or ammonia in it, and therefore isn't actually changing the state of the hair. It is semi perm. because it only coats the hair's cuticle, never entering it, as does a permanent color. Good luck. Hope this helps

no my friend dyed her hair and totally screwed it up. when we went to her hairstylist to fix it, we told her we were gonna try dying it again. and she was really adamant and we didnt do that because it would totally screw it up. so my suggestion is to wait a while.
