i scratch my hair alot and I want to STOP!... cuz i know it can cause breakage....but are the goods and bads of it?

some scratching is good because it promotes circulation but if you scratch that much you might have a dandruff problem or an allergic reaction to ur shampoo so might want to consider changing brands

well it's bad for 1 thing it because your scalp is dry..try using a dandruff shampoo like Perfect Results Medicated Shampoo..and it says on the bottle that it releaves the itching and scratching of the scalp

I read that when your scalp is damaged, it produces flakes as a covering/way to heal itself. When you scratch, it makes the situation worse.

It's a nasty habit to do in public. Not only is it repulsive for others to have to look at, nasty things fly out onto people. And what about your hands? You then touch other people? Food? Money? Elevator buttons? GROSS

Try oiling your scalp...there are plenty of hair products that cater to dry/itchy scalp.

you might have dandruff-white flakiy stuff?
the scratching doesn't really affect your hair but your scalp, it might damge it if you scratch too much...
