I would say English is the most sueful language to learn. Assuming you know English, I would think SPanish would be the second most useful language. I don't remember where i read this, but it was predicted that, along with English, Mandarin, Spanish, and Arabic would become internationally spoken languages.

English-speaking powers have already had a huge impact on the world and it will continue to be so. Mandarin is ht emost spoken lnauge in the world and it will become very important to do business in the future seeing that China is predicted to burst out of it's shell. There are many countries that speak Spanish (mostly in SOuth and Central America) and Arabic (in Africa and the Middle East), and these countries too will become more important on the world stage as they furthur devlop.

At this point in time I would suggest that Spanish is the most useful assuming you live in the US. Otherwise, I would suggest Mandarin. Nevertheless, I'm sure any language, especiually the 4 have mentioned, would be useful to you in any of your endeavors.

I'd say English and Spanish are the two most predominant languages in America. Learning spanish is definitely a necessity. Not sure where you're from....

If you do not already know English, then English. It is a universal language. For example, not everyone speaks my native language, but I could be guaranteed to find someone that speaks at least some English in multiple countries.

China is very quickly becoming the dominant country for business, and so if you're going to work in commerce, I would say one of the Chinese languages...probably Mandarin.

Other than that, it depends on where you're living. In Canada, I would say to learn French, in the US learn Spanish. It depends what would be of most use to you.

I think that everyone in the United States should learn ENGLISH as a FIRST language, then Spanish or Mexican, then whatever else they want.

There is a difference in Spanish and Mexican, my niece speaks fluent Spanish and she married a Mexican, he had a hard time understanding her and vice-versa. He now speaks English.

english (you'd be surprised how many ppl can't actually speak it...considering how for some it's their native language...).

spanish (what's "mexican"? ...that's offensive)

mandarin and arabic (when we're talking about going beyond US borders) are also becoming more and more important.

but if you're looking to learn a new language, pick one you'd think you'd actually enjoy. it'll make it easier to learn and stick with =)

English, of course.

Chinese, as it is going to be the language of commerce.

Arabic could also get you far in this day and age.

English. It's a widely-spoken language. Depending on where you live, the answers would vary.
