It will ONLY end when there is a better alternative...i.e. the other countries get a LOT better and the US gets a LOT worse, or there is a better and more convenient country to immigrate to, either legally or illegally.

In my opinion I think that it will never end because there is always going to be someone who will come up with a new way of getting into the U.S illegally. Plus we have illegal immigrants in high positions LOL. Or at least they have family and/or friends who are illegal!

Yes ! do believe illegal immigration will end in the US. Americans want their country back. The wall is a great idea. Don't get me wrong when immigrants come here and they go through all the steps to be legal, I am happy for them and happy to have them here. The illegal ones are ruining our country and depleting all of our resources that we worked very hard for. Something should of been done many years ago before it all got out of hand.

No it won't end and you are right, it has always been.
But the 80's gave sort of an amnesty program, so this gave illegals the idea of open invitation.
I think the process needs revised, but I also don't think people should come here illegally, it makes them have to run from the law and be afraid their whole life.

No. People will always try to come here legally or otherwise as long as our government remains as lenient as they have been. What should upset people is that when a legal immigrant comes into the country our government gives them $10,000 per family member plus helps them find a place to live, gives them free college and sets them up with food stamps, welfare, medical and all they need. The rest of us survive however we can with whatever we can get. Not complaining, but i have to get up every morning and go to work for what i got. Served in the U.S. military to get money for school once i got out. went to college and got a degree. No one gave me nothing. I earned everything I have ever gotten. Thats what is great about america. And someone starting out here from poorer parts of the world shouldnt need such a large hand up/out.

Ilegal immigration will end only if the people supporting it understand the consequences. Building walls is not going to stop the illegals. Punishing the employers with heavy fines and large scale deportation is the only solution.

I also know there has also been immigration(legal or not) forever. But in them old days they used to ship them by the dozens. Now it is so hard to come, no wonder there is illegal immigrants coming!!! Especially Latinos. I believe they have the hardest time. Sorry but that is my opinion and if i offend anyone i am so sorry=)

It would come to a controllable trickle if we enforced our immigration laws and entitlements stopped. If we followed Mexico's example we wouldn't have an illegal immigration problem.
Funny isn't it? The very country (Mexico) that blasts us if we even think about enforcing our laws or securing our own border shows utter disrespect for our sovereignty, demanding we keep our border open, demand their people illegally here are respected and taken care of. They religiously enforce their own immigration laws and do NOT give entitlements even to legal immigrants.
Mexican's/hispanic's/latino's are not a race they are a nationality. I have many nationalities in my family, Mexican, Salvadorians, Blacks, Irish, American Indian, German, Italian, English and few others. Until recently we all thought of each other as American's, without a hyphen. We are all sick of this invasion.
Through the years there have been a few illegal's trickling in this country, it was no big deal. Why?
1. They showed respect for their new adopted country and the majority assimilated.
2. They didn't wave their home country's flag in our faces.
3. They didn't threaten to take our country over.
4. They didn't call us racist and bigot's.
5. They didn't tell us they came to take jobs American's are to lazy to do.
6. They didn't tell us they are the owners of this continent and white's/Europeans/Jews, all gringo's need to leave.
7. They didn't arrive in numbers of 10 thousand a day.
8. They didn't steal our identities or use our SSN's to get jobs or credit. My husband is a victim of this.
9. They didn't demand ballots be given them in their native language nor did they vote before they were citizens.
10. We didn't find our emergency rooms and schools bursting at the seams with them.
11. They didn't demand in-state tuition.
12. They didn't demand the same rights as citizens.
13. They didn't destroy our neighbors by living 20 to 50 people in a single family dwelling.
14. They didn't fill most our cities with signs and billboards in their native language.
15. We didn't have our cashiers, banks, department and drug store employees speaking in a foreign language forcing American's to either assimilate to them by speaking their foreign language or move from the area, which many American's have done, including my Mexican sister-in-law and German brother-in-law.
16. 500 thousand of them didn't protest in our streets along with the communist, making demands of the US.
17. They didn't compare themselves to black people who ARE citizens.
18. We didn't have our own government, our own President, corporate America, Church's, the ACLU, LaRaza, MECHA, the CPUSA, etc. supporting illegal's while calling citizens names like racist and bigot.
19. Illegal's of yesteryear didn't apply for welfare, get food stamps, medicaid or any other entitlement for themselves or their US born babies, they didn't bring attention to themselves nor use their US born babies as a pawn.
My X husband's Grandmother was an illegal from Italy, a stowaway on a ship. She was so grateful to be here, she WANTED to stay in the shadows, she worked a few jobs, cleaning & ironing was 2 of them. She quietly learned English and refused to speak Italian in her own home, her choice. She didn't come here for money, to get rich quick. She came here to get peace. She displayed peace and peace is what she received in return. The very opposite of most illegal's today.
There is no comparison to illegal's of today and those of yesterday.

i think that america has the right to put up walls to keep immigrants out. for one thing- the illegals that are here are not paying taxes and are hurting working americans income. another thing is that they are not being fair to those who are waiting in mexico to become american citizens- LEGALLY- and it is totally not fair to those who follow the law. immigrants just don't come from mexico. there are tons and tons of terrorists in america right now and they dont care if you support them or not because they hate you anyway. america needs to clean out the illegals and send them back home- and if they want to live here they need to do it the right way- legally.
