I have long, slightly thick hair to my waist. It takes about 4-5 hours to dry on its own and a half hour or so to blow dry it. I'm not good at putting my hair up, nor do I have the time to do anything complex with it in the morning. I usually wear it down. The swimming unit is comming up soon in phy ed class. 22 days long. What should I do with my hair? A pony tail isn't good enough and my hair tangles easily. It usually looks like a "rat's nest" after I go swimming and is a nightmare to comb or brush through. I need help with ideas! I have the class 3rd hour.

I hated doing swimming in Phys Ed for the same reason. I don't know how they expect most girls to do swimming. It is just so much more extra work.

You could use a swim cap so your hair won't get wet. The other thing to do is braid your hair really well before going in. Put it in a ponytail braid and then put another rubber band on the end. Use cheap rubber bands for your hair so you can just cut them out. That way less chance of it getting tangled when you try to brush or comb out your hair. You can also buy spray in detangler to help with combing out wet hair. Blow dry as much as you can.

yeah - I hate to say it, but I'd consider a hair cut. Nothing too drastic, just like it is now but significantly shorter.

Rinse your hair very well after class - and the kids no more tangles or no more bed head by Johnson and Johnson will help with the rats nest phenomenon.

With a hair cut, you might find that there are styling products you can use to go for the natural look. I like Nexxus Versastyler and Aussie sprunch spray for the sexy bed head thing...but you're gonna have to get some layers cut for it to work.

Maybe ask a hairstylist what she recommends while she's got you in the chair and can feel out your hairs texture etc.

OK i have 1 idea for you, but i dont know if you will like it. you could always think about putting you hair in a pony tail and then putting on a swimming cap. it (if used right) keep your hair pretty dry. Then you could use conditioner in the shower.

Dont cut your hair- whatever you do!!! It sounds beautiful!! So just use a shower/swimming cap. Works well , but might be a little embarresing, but it will be worth it- ignore anybody that says anything.
