I think that Kerry meant to say what he said and that his "failed joke" excuse is untrue.

Kerry never meant that the military is Dumb,
The military does not goto Iraq or timbuktoo by itself,
Understand that it is sent there
Sent there by a nicompoop who doesnt give a s h i t about what percentage of your forces are graduates, or doctrates or even Political analysts.
Sent there cause you cant either say no nor can you ask for a reason with all your high and mighty degrees. All you can do is obey orders.
Kerry has served and has served well,
The Imbecile who sent you to Iraq is the very rascal who ran away when he was supposed to serve.
Kerry is showing his anger on how unquestioned loyalties of the United States Military is being used by some Half witted clown who cant wipe his own a s s right,
And whos PR guys can cook up a storm misquoting Rightly intended statements and distorting facts,
who are basically good actors in front of the cameras
and who care a damn S H I T what happens to you guys down there when u are sent in the name of your country.
So use your head.

Kerry is totally ignorant. He had no right to say what he did. I also have no respect for anyone who defends what he said. I've viewed the speech and there's no reference to Bush or the White House. It was a very deliberate attack on the American military. We all know that Kerry was a disgrace when he was in. He promoted his own awards so he could get out of Vietnam, then came back and joined the protesters and threw his medals away. His view of the military has always been clear and this isn't the first time he's made derogatory comments about military personnel.

Our American troops are some of the best and the brightest. They work in highly technical fields. There is nothing stupid about our forces or what they do. They're certainly NOT stuck, however, Kerry's silver foot seems to be stuck in his mouth now. His own party has even canceled any campaign speeches he was supposed to give for candidates up for election next week. That should tell you something. Not to mention, our very own troops have spoken up and voiced what they thought. The picture that's being circulated might be a joke, but it's also a message to Kerry and others.

Is anyone listening??

i might locate an apology from John Kerry meaningless, at any value. it incredibly is irrelevant no remember if he will ask for forgiveness. believe him to thrust himself into the limelight, in basic terms like tried to do approximately being a "vet." i think of, if Mr. Kerry rather pointed out with being a Vietnam vet, the final element he might do is attempt to get our troops disparaged and spit on the way the Vietnam vets have been.

You put politics into this already. What John Kerry said was a misstep. Look at the real facts - he was really criticizing GW Bush. GW, a man who used his father and grandfathers influence to get into the National Guard to avoid the draft. He used it to get assigned to a squadron of fighters which would never be sent overseas. John Kerry - fought in the war. Decorated. Enough said.

For every one dumb thing that John Kerry says, GW says 10. Enough said

Kerry is a fool. He should be hanging his head in shame but his foot is in his mouth. I really think he was trying to link Iraq with Bush's stupidity but got the words tangled up. And the way it came out, well, it sure sounds like you are a dummy to be in Iraq. He needs to hide and not do any more damage.

"Hinted?"
Hell, he's been spewing out slander and lies about the U.S. military since his appearance before a Congressional Hearing in 1967 - this is public record - and he hasn't stopped yet.

I, too, am former army - and I met a hell of a lot more morons when I returned from Viet Nam than I ever served with!

I'm sorry that some of you former military types are overly sensitive about your intellect or lack thereof.

It was a botched joke. Grow up and stop whining.

This is true to a large extent - just look at the low mentality of the people who ran Abu Ghraib - trailer trash or what.
