Highly unlikely. They can give a nasty sting, but it is rarely fatal to humans, so it is very unlikely to be fatal to an animal 7 to 10 times bigger. The common name, "cow killer" is a bit of hyperbole, to indicate the painfulness of their sting, not a literal fact.

It's not actually an ant, it is a type of female wingless wasp. The common name, "cow killer," is thought to describe the painful sting these insects can inflict to man and animals, although it is doubtful that many cows are actually stung. It is not a fatal sting, just very painful so I think you dog and your cows are safe.

I have heard that all my life, . Of course the sting they say is so painful, it could kill a cow, never pick one up. Never heard if a cow has died from the sting. They are really wasp, not ants.

Yes. They run up the Cows nose and sting it inside there.

Also as they are a protected species nowadays, you can't get Velvet for love or money......

if you fire it from a really powerful cannon, yes.

or if it's a large one with a chainsaw, trained in jiu jitsu - it could kill it humanely and butcher it too.
