In the last 2 weeks I have treated 4 patients in the emergency room. Who either did not check the experation dates on medications. Or gave their prescription medications to someone else. And these people who had moderate to severe reactions. There are many OTC/Prescription medications that can actually become toxic etc.. after experation. Also medications that are prescribed for for one person can cause problems in another patient. In one case a mother gave her 10 year old daughter cough syrup that was prescribed for the mother. It had codeine in it. The mother did not know the ingrediants in the cough syrup. The daughter was highly allergic to codeine. It took us over an hour and a half to stabilize her. Please check experation dates on all medications. And do not share prescription medications. It can be dangerous. And can be fatal. I would hate to have to treat you or your loved one's in the emergency room because of some thing that could have been avoided.
Take care all.

Checking the expiry date is the very first thing I do once any medicine gets into my hand and never shared any prescription medicine to anyone.

It is one of the common mistakes many people are doing, not being cautious in looking at the expiry dates. There are some also who are aware that some medicines had expired yet they still use them believing that it had just its effectiveness lessened - such belief is so dangerous. Sharing the prescription is not unusual as well which is a far dangerous practice. Both are done to have some financial savings as the main cause, I believe. Whatever is the reason for doing such, they are totally wrong. Why expiry dates are always indicated on every medicine? - It is for users to check if they are not yet expired. Why do doctors give different prescriptions? - Because every person's condition is different from each other, therefore sharing the prescription medication is entirely wrong and unsafe.

Thanks for having this reminder and I hope that anyone who get a chance to have a glance on your question will be reminded that using expired medicine or sharing prescription medication is not a healthy practice and very risky that can even cost a life.♥

Thanks, Kali, I agree with you. I always check the expiration date. Since you have treated so many patients lately, do some research and find out why. Yes, it is very dangerous to share your prescription medications with anyone, and I do not do that. I have had some people steal some of my medications though. You are a nice person, but the correct spelling is expiration, not experation. Ingredients and not ingrediants. Spell check your questions and answers. It makes you look more credible. This is meant in a kind way, not an insulting way.

I think that animal testing is okay if it's for medical testing. It needs to be tested to make sure it's safe. However I only think testing is okay if medically necessary, cosmetic reasons are not ethical. Yes, I would take the medication.
