that if enough people put their faith into one book, they can doom the future of our planet and all of mankind? Isn't this the real reason we are angry? Do they ever stop to think that their book could just be the mad ramblings of people gone insane? How do we stop mass insanity?

oooh--I love the new avatar!---actually the correct term for this kind of behavior is mass hysteria--they diagnosed it back in the late fifties/early sixties--the problem is that all fundamentalist christian churches have literally degenerated into cults and nobody is doing anything about it

So, the artist formerly known as Jeff Gannon is considering suing everybody.

Well, this will separate the Gannons from the Guckerts.

Gannon told Newsweek that he is contemplating “suing liberal interest groups, bloggers, and others,” for what he termed “political assassination.” Don’t see that in the statutes anywhere.

He is presumably pondering some sort of libel action, or perhaps he harbors some vague hope of proving invasion of privacy. This would, of course, require that what’s been said about him isn’t true (though he hasn’t denied it), and was maliciously published or broadcast by people who knew it wasn’t true or made no effort to confirm or refute it. Of course, he had told Editor & Publisher last week that he would no longer talk to the media, then followed that up five days later by a complaint to the same magazine that nobody was trying to contact him (and in the same interview denied he was giving an interview with CNN, an interview which he taped about an hour later).

There certainly do seem to be enough personality elements floating around in there to constitute two separate fellows. Neither of them seems to know a lot about the media, or about communications law.

Guckert/Gannon’s interview with CNN Friday reflected a fundamental misunderstanding of both - to say nothing of time. Asked if he was using a pseudonym because he was hiding his past, he again insisted that it was simply an issue of having a last name that was difficult for others to pronounce or remember.

Ahem. I have a slight speech impediment— something of that Brokavian “L” problem. I have trouble pronouncing my own name. I started in broadcasting when disc jockeys often changed their names because the station they were working at happened to have an old jingle that mentioned somebody else’s name (“Dan! Taylor!”), so they simply started using that name. I began when ethnic or regional qualities of any sort were discouraged on the air - when accents were trained away and consonant-laden last names simplified. I never once seriously considered changing my own name. I don’t think I’ve suffered professionally (and neither has Christiane Amanpour, Greta Van Susteren, Wolf Blitzer, or Rush Limbaugh).

But back to the point. “I have made mistakes in my past. And these are all of a very personal and private nature,” he told CNN. “Why should my past prevent me from having a future?”

The problem with this insanity is too many opinions by the 'Creation' itself about any issue.

If all of us submit ourselves and our will to our Creator, then only we can live peacefully. Why do we have so many laws, that keep changing with times? Why so many conflicts and differences of opinions? Its just because i can think about something in one dimension which i find apt. But someone else thinks about it the other way which suits his ideology.

Therefore if all want to get united, follow the rules of 'The Creator' as HE alone knows what's best for HIS Creation.

I do not like to use the word "religion." For that is mans attempt in their best efforts to get right with God. Many different demoninations, or practices, that people follow that makes them feel like they can get in "good standing" with our creator. Thats why there are so many conflicts between these "religions" and people are fighting over it. Thats the result of tainting God's plan. We forget the reason Jesus came and died for us! He came so that we would have the true way back to the Father, and that He would establish the TRUE way of living. Thus, Christianity, which means Christ-like or little-Christ, is NOT a religion but merely the lifestyle of Christ that we are to replicate. Not by our own efforts, but made possible by the Holy Spirit in a relationship with Jesus Christ. Accept His Gift of salvation and experience the life of abundance. May the Lord Bless You Abundantly!!!

If you took a Bible course and discovered what SCRIPTURAL TYPOLOGY is you would be amazed. If you knew what SALVATION HISTORY was in the Bible you would understand. If you recognized DIVINE AUTHORITY you would know that there has to be someone in authority to reveal the "secret" truths God has given. If you research all those phrases you will begin a journey of discovery that will last a life time.

We have a saying in Catholicism: the New Testament is hidden in the Old and the Old is revealed in the New. There are many mysteries contained in the Bible that I have been amazed at discovering for the past 20 years and there is a whole lot more. St. Jerome said: Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. The whole Bible is about our SALVATION: Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ fulfilled over 300 prophesies in the Old Testament about the Messiah you can discover 50 of them in cd's IT IS WRITTEN.

WHEN YOU HAVE BEGUN TO DISCOVER THESE THINGS YOU WILL KNOW IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE BEEN WRITTEN BY MAN. Jesus (a historical figure along with others in the Bible that are not fictitional characters) by fulfilling just 50 prophesies makes the odds of doing that 10X135 power! An astronomical figure that could not have been achieved by human means.

The thing that might shock you and others is that SATAN used scripture to tempt Jesus. So, too Satan will use scripture to trip us up from following the true faith. This is why there has to be DIVINE AUTHORITY that passes from the Old Testament to APOSTOLIC SUCCESSION in the New Testament. This is why someone cannot Authoritatively pick up a Bible and correctly interpret it nor can there be millions of interpretors to HOLY SCRIPTURE. There can only be one!

Hun, many people turn to God because he is a savior. They need that protection, and that notion, that there is some one there as a parachute on the descent. I for one am a free faller. But still like I implied with God NOT in this world, there would be more murders, and worst of all more suicides. I have meet several people over the net, that have come to God after stopping drugs, and found refuge in him. Really its still "one nation under God."

we stop mass insanity ??by repeating THE TRUTH , over and over and over, again until enough people REALIZE---ow my god the [ peace and light people] were right all the time , and ---our separating EGOTISTICAL RELIGIONS were wrong.

just because you hear --voices in your head-- doesn't make you a head of a religion--no matter how ,charismatic you are.

moses was a cold blooded murder, and people think he is so special- if he were alive to day he would be sitting on death row, --not honored in some fantasy book.

love , joy , peace, light, happiness, laughter, are universal quality's--no group owns them, or can say if you follow [our way] you will get them.

they are free to all!!

peace

It's not the books that cause people to do stupid things. It's people who have the lack of intelligence to know how to properly interpret religious texts, that give religion a bad name. And don't forget the politicians who use religion as a way of misleading the public in order to further their own agenda.

Luci, your question seems to presuppose that people are creating future reality. Quite to the contrary, most Christians believe that these events will happen whether people believe so or not. It's not a matter of trying to will the future "doom" of our planet; it's a matter of what they read in the Bible and therefore believe.

You talking about the book of science? The book of cloning? The book of Gene splicing?

What will YOU do and think if SCIENCE makes a virus so deadly it kills everyone!

Does that have anything to do with God or the Bible?

You have a problem with Not Stealing?

Someone takes your TV, VCR, DVD you don't flinch!

You have a problem with Not Killing?

You have a problem with your man cheating on you and then bringing a disease in to your bed, like Herpes, which is incurable?

You have a problem with Love your Enemy?

You like to hate instead?!

Remeber, if the Science books starts a virus so horrible it starts killing and killing and killing, that's got NOTHING to do with Religion!

You can´t stop mass insanity. It´s like the lemmings, their god is the sea and they meet him throwing themselves from a cliff by the thousands. There is no way to put reason into a mythic brain.
