Gals, if your boyfriend was nearing his divorce, and he has the possability to have to pay high alamony or maintanence, and we got married, and he was no longer able to work, would I as his new fie, be responsible for his exs alamony??

no you are not responsible for his child support and your income does not count when it comes to figuring his support payment. but, be careful how you file your income taxes. she may be entitled to his share of any refund, and they may garnish your refund as well. you might want to talk to your tax preparer about this.

Well I don't know, but certainly if the ex sued him for back child support or alimony it would affect your credit rating. He doesn't sound all that wonderful to tell you the truth. I wouldn't want to take on the financial burden of someone in that situation.

I think it depends By state My brother's wife had to pick up the slack for his Child support cause he was behind and the court took the money from her too. Check your States laws... Good luck

yes why cause you become as one person not two individual and if she didn't' work and he did yes i would think twice before i get married cause he could do the same to you good luck

yes honey you will be paying his bills, my sister is getting her exhusband wife money cause he don't make as much any more so she has to pay the difference. so becareful wht you ask for hon.

Yes you would if you getting married his bills become yours and your bills become his. Stupid law but that is how it works.
