Yeah, ice is great for the swelling, but how about the trauma? Any time a tooth is traumatized it is possible for the nerve of that tooth to become damaged. This may lead to root canal therapy (RCT).

It is important for you to make an appointment w/ your dentist. An x-ray will be taken and your teeth will be evaluated. Trust me....don't wait! You should be able to be seen right away, b/c this is an emergency situation. Your dentist should be aware of any situation going on in your mouth at all times. These situations are recorded and can later on be used to evaluate a later condition or happening.

This is only a precautionary measure. Yet, an important one. It's always better to be safe than sorry!

If you don't take my advice, then watch out for discoloration of the traumatized teeth. Now it is definitely time to make an appointment. The teeth are necrotic (dead) and will need further treatment.

Just apply ice to the area. Teeth may feel loose but will strengthen over time. Stick with soft foods for now. When in doubt, go to the dentist.

YOU OUGHT TO MANAGE THE DISCOMFORT BY PLACING COLD OVER THE INJURED AREA. TAKING SOME IBUPROFEN FR THE PAIN AND SWELLING WILL BE OF BENEFIT. IF THE ACTUAL TEETH ARE BLEEDING THEN YOU HAVE SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE AND SHOULD SEE A DENTIST A.S.A.P.

If your teeth don't look damaged most likely you cut your gums, gargle with warm salt water 3 times a day and that should make it feel better if not see your dentist............
