I don't quite follow how Christ came to die for all sins, and then Paul shows up later to add more laws. What's going on here?

In Christian History, Paul of Tarsus stole the christian cult for political ends. he forged christianity into a religion that has little to do with christ´s teachings.

He never knew Christ´s personally and saw immediately that this cult has a lot of potential. He was well connected and instilled it at another social level. THus he became quite influential and powerful. Christ became thus only a banner.

But hey, I don´t even believe in god, and I doubt that jesus ever existed. But at least I have read about this so I can transmit it to you. Don´t believe me. Read about it. Good luck.

Paul doesn't add more laws - he actually has a lot to say about how Christians are not under the law (i.e. Romans).

The things you are talking about are precepts, not laws. The key difference is this: the Law was given for the condemnation of men (Romans) but the Spirit of God is mankind's freedom (Romans).

A lot of the confusion comes because the Law was given to the Jews (Peter was the admitted Apostle to the Jews, as see in Galatians), but Paul was ministering to the lawless Gentile. The Jew was living under a far too heavy burden in the Law, but the Gentiles had no regulations.

Therefore, Paul had to add some in order to maintain a proper relationship with God. Remember, God is the same now as He was in the Old Testament, it is we who have changed because of the revelation of Christ on the Cross.

hope that helped

Paul just reinforced some of the early laws which were established in the Old Testament. The one that bothers me the most is about women covering their head in church and also not being allowed to speak. I loved Paul and I know he was a good man and most Christians think he helped us understand the meaning much better because he was totally dedicated after he was blinded by the Light. I am sure you know the story. If not, email me and I will tell you. I am a Christian but I don't go for the covering of the head. Since Jesus never mentioned it, I just let it go.

Christ came to die for all sins? what does it mean. I don't think you understand the meaning. Christ came to show you the way and the truth by his teaching and living which is now called Christianity. Most of the rules of religions then were misleading and Jesus was crucified because of his new rules against them. You know He was accused of blaspheme. You are free fr sins not because he just died but you have to keep the truth that he shows and follow the way which he paid his life for it. Paul was only reminding ppl His ways after He's gone.

We have only 10 laws and many of us can't seem to follow those. There were many more before Christ died for our sins. Paul was sent by God so we would know how to be more Christlike. We need rules and structure, just because you have become a certain age doesn't mean you have it all together and you are full of wisdom and all knowing. There is so much to learn and never ending questions that can be answered through prayer and fellowship. God Bless to you and yours.

When Christ came to "remove sin" it means that He bore our penalty on the cross in our place. It doesn't mean that we can live any way we want to now. Besides, Paul clearly argues at length in Romans 1-11 that before Christ we were living according to the law, but now we are living according to grace. I'm afraid you picked on the wrong Apostle to falsely accuse of adding more laws.

If you can't 'follow' how Jesus died for the sins of the world, and you think Paul added laws, then you are too far gone for me to try to explain how food can be eaten with utensils, let alone try to make you understand anything about spititual things. Go back to Good Times, Happy Times - is that a tavern?

Paul did not add rules because the only two "rules" are love your neighbor as your self and love God with your whole soul mind body and spirit. Paul spoke of Examples of what happens when you love one another. For example if your best friend is an alcoholic and you know she is struggling to break the habit out of love you would not have alcoholic beverages at a party she comes to in your home.

Christ did in fact die for your sins and mine.

Paul laid down what would help us become more Christlike.

Paul often times noted his own personal walk.

So we are no able to study and APPLY what took place 2000 years ago.

Paul made the rules to establish the Christian Churches with his understanding of the teachings of Jesus and with his own biases.
