I have had this dream in my head since I was a very young child that I saw huge lobsters (bigger than cars on the street) coming down the street and I kept warning & pleading with my mom & dad that I saw them coming and they would not believe me. Finally the lobsters came into our driveway and then it was as if the dream ended or I disappeared. I am a Christian and I now believe it is significant of my warnings to my parents about the the harpatzo (rapture) but they won't believe me or listen about it (the rapture). Does anyone have ideas about how I can interpret this dream or have a lead or a website to guide me? This has troubled me for years. Thank You one million in advance!

Well, according to Freud, lobsters are an obvious symbol of sexuality, specifically dirty, nasty sex (the connotation of crustaceans linked to venereal diseases is well established).

The street is an obvious allusion to sex, since that's where hookers work.

The driveway is interesting though. It is actually a symbol for sex - usually dirty sex - with connotations of rough roads, gravelly patches, dripping oil, the back way into the protected home, and of course it is linked to cars, which are well known surrogates for sex.

Your parents are actually another symbol for sex (they had to have had sex to have you, forever linking those symbols in your mind)...

You know what, that Freud guy may have a few issues of his own.

In actuality, dream analysis is somewhere behind reading bumps on your head or divining the future from the entrails of rabbits in terms of scientific validity. In all probability, they don't mean a thing, except that you probably find lobsters a little bit on the creepy side.

Because lobsters have an external shell, in the dream state they can represent the need to be protected or anxiety about being vulnerable. Since you've seen this dream for such a long time it probably had to do with childhood feelings of wanting to stretch your limits but still recognizing that you need protection. The fact that they disappear when they arrive at your home (or at least you wake up then) it would seem that your subconscious is recognizing the safety of home .... whether it be a physical place or a spiritual place.

As your own sense of who you are has grown you grew your "own shell' for protection. The fact that your parents never shared your concerns left you feeling vulnerable and therefore you had the dream until you came to value yourself and your beliefs.

There really isn't any need to be troubled by the dream ... most dreams connect you to your inner divine guidance.

Good luck

if in the dream, your parents didnt beleive you about the lobsters, and now in real life, they wont beleive you about you thinking that rapture is coming, then it looks like your dream has already come true
