I'm curious as to how you feel about the recent insurgence of anti-gay politics by some of the mainstream churches.

I personally am gay and I just find it to be very frusterating that the politicians are always pitting us against Christians.
I fully support a persons right to practice whatever faith they believe in.
But it seems like there can be no harmony with gays and Christians because it doesn't charge an electoral debate.

Your thoughts?

PS - if you are thinking about quoting something from Sodom and Gamorrah, we have all heard it before and it is not likely to win you a best answer but do what ye will....

When your fellow christians are condemning you for being gay you should point out that none of them are living by the word of God either. I'm pretty sure God frowns on divorce, adultery, and a lot of other stuff that christians do all the time. According to God's word you're not even supposed to work on the sabbath, but they're not trying to ammend the constitution to enforce that rule, are they? They are using their religion as a moral cloak to hide their homophobia. Doesn't it seem strange that they crusade against homosexuality, but have nothing to say about any of the other sins people commit daily. Why do you want to be a part of all this nonsense anyway? Find your own path.

Gay Christians?
That's an oxymoron.

The example that Jesus gave us was to set aside worldly lusts of all kinds. Personal fulfillment and gratification was not part of His life, else He would never have gone to the cross.

I've no doubt that there are Christians who struggle with gay temptations, but why take a sin issue and apply it as a label to yourself ?

2 Cor. 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Be who you are and be proud of it. People should never judge someone on their sexual preference it is just wrong! Also people should not have the choice to decide whether they are going to let gays get married or not because its not their choice to be made. Gays should be allowed to get married as anyone else and i am also sick of the gay bashing. I am not gay but i do not see anything wrong with a person being gay and i just hate the fact that people think they have the right to make the decisions on what gays can or cannot do. Those choices should be made by the gay person not the ones against them. Good luck

I leave the matter of being gay to you and Jesus. My job is not to tell you how to live regardless of how I personally feel about it. I can tell you what the bible says according to this, but I would have to include the fact that we are all sinners and non are righteous expect Jesus. If you are truly walking with Him you will know what is right and what is not

That's an oxymoron since the term "gay" has come to mean someone who lives a homosexual lifestyle and who militantly refuses to acknowledge that the act of homosexual sex is unnatural and a sin.

But, someone who has same-sex attraction but who does not act on it but who lives a celibate life can be a Christian.

Living a Christian life involves literally running away from sin, if you refuse to run away from homosexuallity, then your choosing your sinful life above God. Christians, true Christians will always, " seek first the kingdom of God and his rightousness..."

There isn't such a thing. You can't be gay and christian. Even if you say you are and you go to church and pray to god every day and night, it doesnt matter. Homosexuality is against gods rules. He said it was an abomination, and the devil is trying to trick you. Dont get fooled by the devil, it's not worth it.
