Does it make your hair greasy? My hair is sort of dry from flat ironing/blow drying it everyday. will the lotion help? Should I use the lotion in my hair everyday, or like every other day?

I use lotion in my hair everyday. I got a perm and it fried my hair. The lotion was the only thing that made it silky again. When you put the lotion in you hair, just put it on the ends or the dry area. Keep it away from your scalp because that will make your scalp greasy, and I keep it away from the hair by my face so I don't get acne from it.

What kind of lotion are you talking about? If your hair is really dry from blow drying, use a deep conditioner. The only time you should use lotion is on your scalp if it's really dry. Just leave it on for the night and shower it out in the morning. You can also get this leave in condtioner/lotion stuff for your hair. Put it in while your hair is still wet. And always use heat protection products before you use any thermal styling on your hair.

What kind of lotion? Normal lotion (like hand+body) will definately make your hair go greasy unles you wash it afterwords. But if you buy one of those nice oils that you put in your hair while washing it, (usually quite pricy) those will help restore it a tiny bit. Your best bet is conditioner, one thats especially made for dry hair.

I just started using the lotion in my hair..and I put it on ..after towel drying it........I rubbed it into my palms and then placed it on my hair about 1/2 way down all the way to the ends..and I worked it in real good...do not use to much ..or it will make it look greasy....you do not need it placed at the roots....due to the natural oils on your scalp.

I would not use it everyday.....but...if you want to really make your hair silky.......1 day when your home for the day / night...place Olive Oil on your hair..and wrap it in a warm towel for a few hours.....then wash out..and try not to use the blow dryer for a few days...or ..very lightly for a while.

I also use this .....even though I'm blonde....Caucasian:

use a small amount of lotion so it doesnt get greasy. not an everyday thing to use. maybe just after you do blow dry it. you might want to also try a better shampoo and conditioner something to hydrate your hair..you should also get a leave in conditioner as well. try to stay away from the blow dryer as much as possible. my hair is the same way..and the only thing to really make it better is good product.

No don't do this since the chemicals on the lotions are so different from the ones on hair products this may end up damaging your hair try using Dove, my hair was really dry and damaged from straightening my hair so much but this actually made it really soft and it does not leave it frizzy if you have curly hair like I do.

lotion is good for your hair, but if you put it on everyday it will turn into a total disaster

you blow-dry your hair everyday?no wonder its kinda dry
i think you should ease up with the drying and ironing.and remember having healthy hair does not only depend on what you put in it but also your diet plays a very important part.my advice is you should give your hair a break and put lotion in it after you wash it (when its wet)You can use leave in conditioners or hair food.also try leaving it to dry naturally.good luck.oh one more thing, you should try putting in products in your hair when you wash it and depending on how it looks a day or two after, just put a non greasy shine spray.
