Since I myself am a true brunette what I suggest is for you to first start off with highlights. It looks more natural and is less drastic. I recently went up a shade in my highlights where some low lights were also incl and I have gotten so many compliments! So try going for a full head of highlights. This way you won't need to strip all your hair

Ok i would probably not put too much confidence in the blonde. When you have dark hair the blonde tends to get brassy and look a little orange, even done professionally. And every two weeks you will have to spend between 45 and 75$ to get your roots touched up because the dark will show through very fast. If you want something dramatic maybe a red would work better for you. The red tones will be a dramatic change but be more managable and easy to keep up.
Hope this helps!

Why not do Redhead why Blondie? Don't you think we have ENOUGH of them roaming around on this earth? LOL LOL, OK All jokes aside If Blondie is what you want then GO RIGHT AHEAD you have to live with this, Your concern should be rather or not your hair is Strong enough to handle the chemicals this is something we (yahoo's ) can't tell you I would advise you to go to a professional hair stylist so that they can take a look at your hair and then tell you what you should do. Please do not do this your self by following some directions off a box, Not saying this is what you were going to do, Just don't want you to have a bad OUT COME, take care Blondie. LOL

I was born a blonde and my hair started to diminish to a dirty blondish light brownish, so I knew I had to dye it to make me feel like myself. I just would be able to function if I wasn't who I was born. I would go to a hair dresser, one that isn't sorry to say that have black american hair dressers. I have gotten my hair done by two different black people and my hair turned pink and the other time it turned orange. I was completely embarrassed and asked for my money back, they only know their hair, just like we only know ours. Just do it yourself. I have upkeep, but I don't stress my roots coming out. If you do the bottle blonde yourself you can fix it quickly and easily. First I would completely dye it blonde buy a lot of this if you have longer hair. Then dye it a darker shade, and then later, dye it a darker shade. You have to keep your hair colour within two shades of it so you can't make a dramatic change quickly. Being a blonde does make life harder and easier. I would do your best to keep your patience.

Well, my own experience dying my hair blonde was a nightmare, because it takes lots of maintenance to keep it nice.
you have to use special shampoo so your hair wont look like it was oxygenated at home (cheap) and also roots will show like in 2 weeks. in addition everytime I wanted it straight it looked so damaged because of the bleach that have it straighted was not an option anymore. (never looked shiny)

I went blonde, worst thing I ever did to my hair. Too much trouble, time and hard to maintain. I went back to my natural color and will not go there again.
