He is the only one they single out to criticize out of all the gods of this world. That is profound in itself.

For the most part. This is why:
My Uncle and Aunt are athiest.
For the record: I'm all for believing or not believing in what you want.
But it's really weird because my aunt and uncle have the same ideas I do. (by the way I believe in God and Jesus but don't really follow any one religion) When times get hard they believe that things will happen the way they're supposed to. and there's a reason for everything. similar to the way christians might say it's "God's plan"
When we talk about God they refer to the Christian God mainly because that's the only God they've ever been taught about. They are not interested in any other religions because they say it's made up and there's no way to prove any of this stuff.
When others might pray, they "hope" that things go the way they would like them to.
So although they are VERY firm non-believers, since they were raised in catholic and protistant families it's my belief that it's always in the back of their mind.--the Christian God.
They have their very own thoughts about reincarnation and such that might go along with some other religions, but I'm not sure. They seem to have sort of made up their own beliefs...don't know that this helps any, but it's just a little bit of knowledge I have. Just so you know, if you are not athiest you will never fully understand how someone could really not believe in something and/or anything.

usually atheists are Americans because they have the most access to the scientific explanation of how everything came. In America, there is mostly one God, and that is the Christian God. So yes, they are more familiar with the Christian God than other Gods that are practiced more in foreign countries.

In the west christianity is the dominant religion which explains why here most atheists know more about christianity than say islam.
I'm sure that atheists in the middle east talk much more about the koran than the bible.

I think the Christian God and the God of the bible are one and the same.

No, but the Christian God belongs to the only group of people self righteous enough to try to shove their beliefs down others throats, so most references to The God of the Bible refers, in a polite way to the God of these indignant hypocrites called Christians.

It's also the only god that the Christians recognize. I don't understand what you're getting at... what are you trying to say?

Atheists do not recognize any gods, most are repented (haha) catholics, that´s why they´ll crtiticize most what they know. But there are atheists coming from any beliefs and even atheists that have never been contaminated.

The Christians are the ones doing most of the bashing.
Never had a buddhist say a bad word about an atheist here. Shintos seem OK on it. Hindus have no comments. Zoroastrians are withholding judgment on the entire issue.

It's the one that's the biggest concern for many atheists, because his followers make the biggest noise...
Atheists don't recognize *any* gods.
