This may seem like a really weird question, and I doubt its been asked before, but I have my own beliefs that I want to make into a religion. Does anyone have suggestions on how I could get these beliefs out there a lot more and spread them to make it a religion that at least people have heard of?

Just to clarify, I`m nto trying to become a prophit or a god or anything like that. I have my own beliefs. I can think by myself. I`m sorry if some people live a life where others think for you, but I don`t. I believe in certain things that I want to spread.

Well, start with outlining the beliefs. Look at a webpage that summarizes an existing religion or religions to get an idea of all the things that come up. (I put one in the sources that has a big grid, actually.) How does the religion explain creation, or the afterlife, or why bad things happen? (These are the biggest concerns of people.) Then write a webpage - that's the best start these days. After that you might want to write up things in a booklet and put on your webpage that you have more information available.

That's really interesting. What are your beliefs? The Internet is a great way to spread the word about things like that, if you have some good ideas. Maybe you could make a website or something.

Engage in intelligent discussion with others about your religious beliefs. This will do far more than trying to convert them. One of the big problems with evangelists is they often try and sell religion as if it were a brand of soap. People get annoyed when they know that they're just a "conversion attempt" to the evangelist, and are getting patronized.

That is what has screwed up the whole world. No one has the right to make a religion but the Divine representative of God or God Him OR Herself. If you don't want to incur very bad Karma in your next life then I would stop this rascally Idea. The truth is already available you just have to be sincere and find it. Are you perfect and pure is there not one drop of violence hate, lust, greed or envy in you if you are perfect then you can start a religion. Be careful don't hurt yourself or others.

Study marketing and advertising. It doesn't matter whether your religion makes sense as long as you know how to market it. The oldest trick in the book is to convince people they need your religion. You must convince them they are sick before they will buy your cure. Fear and guilt work well also. Just look at Scientology. It starts out like a self-help program and you end up believing all kinds of bizarre nonsense.

Not really weird: many people have started their own religion; they are called cults, being based on homespun ideas rather than the Bible. So we have the Jones cult, Mme Blavatsky, Mary Baker Glover Eddy, etc. You can write your own books like the Jehovah Witnesses do. Personally, I'd stick with the Bible: God the Holy Spirit dictated His Word to the individual writers of Scripture, and I imagine that He did a helluva better job than you ever hope to accomplish.

Islam because of the pressure and force that SOME Muslims use to convert others to their religion because they think it is the only "true religion" to reach God.

Just start preaching Haily.

We will listen.

Just don't invent another judgmental punishing fantasy God.

We have too many of those already.

love and blessings Don
