Human skulls are very individually shaped items, which is one reason they look better covered with hair and skin. There are loads of funny shaped heads out there, if you look around a bit. Yours is likely just normal variation. On top of the skull there are several spots where the bones had to fuse after your birth- remember the soft spots? As those fuse, they naturally form the lumps, bumps and depressions which give us all our unique head shape. Unless your bump/lump/depression is painful, or it can be moved about with your fingers, there is nothing you can or should do about it. There was once upon a time a phony "science" called phrenology that studied the various bumps and such that shape the skull. They associated all sorts of things to various irregularities of the skull, and the theories were all bunk.
You have simply become aware of a bump in the formation of your skull, and it's likely nobody else notices anything. The things which would cause a bump of the skin are all pretty benign, things like ingrown hairs or cysts. Tumors and things of the brain do not alter the skull shape. Increased pressure within the skull could distort it's shape and size, but then you would not be in a position to be typing on your computer to post the question. So whatever the origins of your bump and depression, they are not likely life threatening. If you really are concerned, you can ask your GP to have a feel and assess it, but there's no particular rush to do it. I really think it's just the way your head happens to be shaped, and is nothing to be concerned with from the sounds of things. If you want to compare skulls to see what I mean, look at babies and old men- and you will see what I mean about the vast variety of skulls and odd head shapes out there.

hiya! Bulging of the precise of the top (fontanelle) must be because of the extra desirable tension interior the cranium. After start, the cranium isn't thoroughly closed and could be closed after 7-19 month. consequently any extra desirable interior the strain interior the concepts will push the fontanelle upwards inflicting the bulging. If this occurs on and rancid (e.g while infant cries, or dehydrated) and then lower back to its popular place, then this is okay. in spite of the undeniable fact that, if the bulging is non-end and not recovering then you definately incredibly need to get your son to the pediatrician to envision. the final element is to do Head CT test or cranium X-ray to work out what reasons the bulging. the available reason is obstruction on the pass of cerebral fluid ( fluid that surrounds the concepts, offering nutrition, and acts as ask your self breaking agent). while there is an obstruction, tension builds up and this reasons a company lump on the precise of the top. If this is the reason then, removing the obstruction with surgical operation is the main properly known determination. i might incredibly advise you to get medical suggestion from a expert.

Everyone has an indention at the back of the crown. It is lumpy right around the indention. That is just the was the "soft-spot" hardens when we are infants. The skull is not perfectly smooth, there are lumps all around. If it worries you, ask your doctor to look at it.
