Christina, a really lovely side dish for spaghetti is a vegeable medly. Cut fresh zucchini and summer squash into bite size pieces. Cut onion and one red pepper into strips. Mince 3 gloves of garlic. Put 2 to 3 tblsps of EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) in a large pan with the garlic & crushed red pepper, salt and oregano. Add the onion then the squash and zucchini and cook at medium high heat until the veggies have texture but aren't too crispy - you can jab a fork into them and it comes out easily. Finally add the pepper strips and a little more oil and some grated Parmesan cheese. You can also add some broccoli or caulifluer if desired. pour it in a casserole or baking dish and let sit in a low oven so that the flavors are blended.

Depends on what sauce you're planning to put on your Spaghetti, an Alfredo? Tomato, Marinara, Garlic Butter, Parmesan Cheese sauce? Makes a big difference, Spaghetti is just a noodle

Traditionally, spaghetti is not served with a side dish other than salad and hard crust bread.

In the superstore, fruits are usually selected far too soon. Some are rocks, many are bad. Some of the fresh vegetables are typical right (zucchini, onions, garlic, lettuce, greens, and a few others) so I'd have to go with vegetables.

I think salad is all that is needed. Spaghetti is so filling and salad is light.
