Yes. To build the muscles they don't necessarily have to work harder (although males' muscles respond more quickly to activity). But females have a higher percentage of body fat in general, and the female body likes to retain fat more readily than men - I guess that's an evolutionary thing, to prepare them for pregnancy, cuz the fetus needs fat energy to grow. So that's where the disadvantage lies, in getting rid of the fat and revealing the nice abs underneath.

for the most part yes.... genetically, women have a higher percent body fat than men...and women store that fat under their skin and above their stomach muscles, called subcutaneous fat, whereas guys are more prone to have fat stored within their organs, called visceral fat. So yeah, to get your abs to be hard and show you have to slim down on the fat a lot more than a guy would.... good luck!
