The most important thing to keep in mind is the fact you did not gain all that weight fast. I'm sure it took years to get where you are..so please don't be in such a rush to lose it. There is no quick remedy, no magic..it's all hard work and eating right.

You should get some kind of cardio exercise in at least 5 days a week. This means your heart rate needs to speed up to a rate where you are burning fat. Also do weight training because muscle burns more calories at rest.

Watch how much carbs you eat. Complex carbs are the best..whole grains, fruit. Plenty of vegetables are important. Watch the calories in that salad dressing and be sure to watch your portion size, but don't starve yourself. That will lower your metabolism. Eat small meals more frequently rather than large ones.
Most of all..keep a positive outlook. If you fall off the wagon..don't worry..you can get right back on. You're worth it!

I am working on loseing weight also, I have joined a great web site community of suportive people and great web tools. They provide nutritional information, activity logs, food Logs and weight logs, they help you calculate exactly how many calories you take in and exactly how many you burn with every activity you do, even standing and sleeping, It is helping me a lot. Not to lose weight fast, but to take it off steady while I relearn how to eat. I want to take off the weight and then be able to keep it off. I have tried so many diets just to fail a few weeks later and regain all the weight back. This web community is wonderful and it is free to join.
Weight loss is all about how many Calories you consume verses how many calories you burn, there are no good short cuts, bite the bullet and be willing to relearn healthy eating habits.

If you are serious about losing weight, the calories
in the food you eat should be less than the
energy you use. You will have to increase your
metabolic rate now, and plan your diet carefully.
Formulate your own weight loss plan and you will
lose weight faster. More details available at

You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

dont worry about speed of the weight loss. if you lose too much too fast then you will have extra skin just hanging on ur body that you'll need surgery to remove. i saw that happened to someone on discovery health. She lost over 100lbs too fast and had skin just HANGING there, it was gross.
this site will help you keep track of your weight and where you should try to get to according to your height......http://www.bariatricedge.com/dtcf/pages/bmi_calculator.htm?SOURCE=GOOG&KEYWORD=p
but here's what you do. cardio! at least 30-45min every other day, the more the better, but try to get into a routine. that's how it helps. get into a weight loss club or something. then you'll be surounding ur self with other people who want to improve themselves and will be helpful and supportive to you. you'll make friends and it'll be fun. get magazines of the models and celebs. seeing those pics of flat tummy women on the covers motivates me. eat healthy. no candy, no chips, no soda, if u drink milk only skim. eat SMALL meals about 4/5 times a day. ephedrine helps too....good luck

Start working out, even if its a 1/2 hour walk 2-3 days a week. Replace whole milk with low fat milk, white bread products with whole wheat, increase your vegetables and protein intake and reduce your fast food intake.
