i keep hearing how god is untangible & we shouldn't question his tactics. but on the flipside, i'm told that it would be keen for me to have a personal relationship with my creator.some father figure he seems to be.
maybe it's just me, but if i'm to truly know someone, there can't many sectrets kept 'tween us. so here we have an omnicent (all knowing, for those who know not) father figure (God, dispite being niether sex, is often refered to in he/him/his, & IT created me/you/everything) that knows all my thoughts & doings, yet i can't (for whatever reason may be) even contemplate what he looks like. what gives?
i only question his methods in an innocent mannor, like a child watching thier father working on a car, i don't mean to be offensive. i just want to learn how he does things, so i can be inspired to be more like my "father".

You don't come to God, the Creator and Ruler of the entire universe arrogantly, expecting to be an equal. You come humbly, acknowledging that He is great and greatly to be praised. Try to understand how wonderful and glorious and magnificent He truly is. Think of the size of the universe; we haven't even found the edges, yet He made it all and sees all of it at once. And He started totally from scratch. God has always existed, regardless of what we puny little human creations think about Him. The fact that we can't get our minds around the concept of true eternity -- no beginning, ever, and no end, ever -- doesn't mean for one minute that God has to operate within the boundaries of our understanding. He doesn't. No, you don't come to God expecting Him to treat you as an equal. We humans are not and never will be equal with God. He expects you to come humbly and love Him. He loves you, whether you acknowledge Him or not.

To watch how He does things, go read the book of Job. It's in the Bible, near the middle, slightly to the left. If you open to the center of the Bible, you get Psalms; Job is the book right before that. Reserve your judgments until you've read the whole book of Job twice through. It really won't take that long. God is a wonderful Father to get to know. Job had questions like yours. God did not think poorly of Job for asking his questions. Go give it a read. Choose a modern translation if you can get one; they're much easier to read. My choice would be the NIV. It is a faithful translation and still reads smoothly.

You are exactly like your father/mother.

God is not in the universe She is the universe.

She created the universe from the only thing that She had available, Herself.

You and the most distant star from you in the universe both exist within the idea of God.

This is a difficult concept for most people to comprehend because they have been taught nonsense about God. Like the idea that God lives far away on a cloud called heaven. God is not a raindrop. Raindrops live in clouds Not God. This is foolishness.

Jesus told us that the kingdom of God is within us. This is true because each and every one of us exist as a part of God. We live and move within our loving source. There is no moment or possibility that we can ever be apart from her.

Forget the silly stories that you have been told about a distant God that lives in the clouds. Look around you. Everything that you see is God.

Love and blessings.
Don

God does not care if you question his tactics. If you were coaching a sports team that was winning would you care if the players questioned your tactics? You wouldn't change them mind you, but it wouldn't bother you if they questioned them. You would just KNOW you knew what you were doing.

God is not keeping any secrets from you. You can find out anything you want to know. That does not mean you don't have to study, ask questions, read a book or practice. These things are part of the process.

God is EVERYTHING. Therefore he looks like everything you know. You, me, your family, the internet, the sky, the oceans, the stars. Everything you see, that is what he looks like.

And God does his work through you. Learn how you work and you will know how God works.

The reason he is untouchable is that to some people he is the reason that they live, without them then they would not be here. Some people need a god in-which to justify their existence and others dont, its a matter of acceptance to what the individual deems worthy to explain life with or without philosophy.

I think you have the wrong idea about God. If you think of God as a creator whose spirit permeates his creation then you are thinking correctly. As far as sex, you refer to God as the sex you respect more or is more respected in your society. That is why God is usually referred to as a male.

The personal relationship with God comes from actively searching for Him. You can't get a relationship without wanting one, unless He decides otherwise. God is bigger than us, but is not us. He is everything.

Can you, as a human, know all things? If God was to share with me all He knows, my head would explode. Can you, as a human, touch the sun? I would burn up before I even got close.

God knows all and is more powerful than than sun. Yet He, the most powerful being in the universe, loves me and wants me to love Him. Then He says He will dwell in me, which is more than touching Him.

What He wants me to know about Him, and what I need to know about Him, is in the Bible He gave us. And that Bible tells us about Jesus Christ, God in the flesh.

Philip asked Jesus the same question you ask....

and therein lies the rub... an all powerful higher power that knows all, creates all, sets all in motion, has a plan, but does not share, but sometimes intervenes, but sometimes doesn't, is holy and good while watching atrocious and heinous acts of brutality committed by his creations which are part of him but possess their own freewill... well, if nothing else, I think he must be unstable and perhaps a little unbalanced and full of the blessed and evil, yin and yang, and not at all like thy father who art in heaven creation created in man's image that is described, deconstructed, and I'm sure to the thinking of some, desecrated herein.

"In the past god spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and various ways, but in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.
The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word."
