Every human being (except Jesus) has a Sin Nature, and with that in place, it is impossible for you (and I) to love Him and follow Him 100% of the time: distractions! He told Adam after the Fall that he would have to work by the sweat of his brow: that is man's lot in life. Consider: He gave you a job to do, you may not like it, but as a Christian, you say thank you and perform it to the best of your ability, and do it to honor and glorify Him.

You are being challenged. I can't tell you if it is by God or Satan; that depends on your personal belief system. It really doesn't matter. The important thing is to keep slogging away while keeping your eyes open for opportunities to enjoy things more. They say that God tests all his favorite people that way. You may want to explore the possibility that you are actually depressed or just physically worn down too. This time of year many people lose their enthusiasm for projects. Personally, I have found that proper diet, exercise and light exposure works wonders, in my case even better than medication. Prayer and meditation will also help. I'm not sure what you meant by being a spiritual hippie. If you just mean lazy, I don't think so. If you mean free-spirited and ready for what God calls you for next, that could describe you.

Just you feeling slothful and aware of it is the first step. Now the Lord wants to see what you will do with your desires. Are you going to continue to be slothful or are you going to grow from this experience and allow the Lord to be your strength? The Lord doesn't always answer our prayers right away..... He will sit back for a little while until we realize we can not do it on our own.

Do the projects and perhaps you should consider finding another job something different. I did this in my mid 30's went back to college. I got bored with my job and made a change. It was the best thing i ever did. Also try to keep in mind that whatever you do, you do unto the glory of God. Good luck and God bless

Sometimes you just need a refill of the Holy Spirit.
Just say, "Lord, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, fill me to the brim, and past it."
I remember when my pastor did something like this. We need a bigger cup, as he said. We go to God with a 12 ounce cup, and we get some but not a lot. Jesus goes with a pitcher, and says, "Fill me up." (Ok, he doesn't say that, but that's the sort of thing that happened.) You are just spiritually drained, like I said, ask for a refill.

You may have a physical illness causing this depression.
I've been there too.
Get a thorough checkup, telling the doctor what you are going through
