Most people keep the ring on their wedding finger. If and when the pain lessons from the loss of a spouse and they start to socialise and look for another spouse then they take off the ring and put it in a safe place where they will always have it.

Tough one, because it is your wedding ring but then it symbolized that you are married. Are you still technically married? Perhaps if you think you may one day wish to meet someone else, you might be ready to wear it on your right hand instead? (as long as it is on your left, an interested woman would assume you are not available)

You can wear your ring on whichever hand you want. My cousin died a few years ago and his wife wore her rings on her left hand until she was ready to date and then she moved them to her right hand. Do what feels best for YOU.

mikey poo is right I love pgrama's answer I would choose it as best if you don't choose mine. sometimes people really want to hold on so they keep the ring close if this is where you are at take your time do it at your own pace but remember you will eventually have to let her go maybe after you continue to wear it for a while you can then take it off put it on a chain and wear it on your neck for as long as you need to and then when you are ready take it off put it away somewhere safe and maybe someday if you have kids or grand kids leave it with one of them good luck

Once the wife dies, the marriage ends so there is no ring. I am a widower and I left my ring with my wife when she passed away and told her to hold it for me until I joined her.

Some say you are to move it to your right hand ring finger, but either is fine. There is no right or wrong way.

If he's not ready to see other women you wear it the same place you've always worn it.

If you're ready to see other women you can either wear it on your right hand or take if off.

Wow, pgrama is a sweetheart. What a wonderful person. I'm sure his wife will be waiting with his ring when he crosses over to her. I'm really touched.
