Your previous answerer has given you all the facts about Mompo, but has not answered your question as to whether your painting and drawing are of any value.

Well, you'll be pleased to know that the answer is yes - but it is difficult to give you an exact value as his paintings have been sold for values anywhere between $3000 and $8000 in the last few years.

I would get a professional valuation and get them insured.

The attached link will give you some idea of sale prices.

Whoops....sorry, forgot the link !

Valencia (Spain), 1927 - Madrid (Spain), 1992
Spanish Master painter and sculptor Manuel Hernández Mompó studied at the Fine Arts School in his native city of Valencia. As a young man, he lived in Paris, Rome, and The Netherlands, the last bringing him in contact with Mondrian who proved to be a great influence on his works.

Mompó initially was a figurative painter, creating scenes of everyday life. His works were painted rapidly and intuitively, and consistently reflected his playful, colorful style. Eventually he moved more into the abstract style, finally working pure abstraction at the end of his life.
