If you run hard you would probably burn about 700--1100.

How many calories you burn has many variables. To begin with, if you are obese, you burn the calories quicker since your body isn't use to the exercise, but if you're only over-weight, it takes a little longer to burn those calories. It also depends on what you're wearing and the weather. If you're going out on the beach running in the hott sun with a sweater on rather than a suit to run to the water, your body is going to sweat more therefore burning a little more calories. The speed you run, the effort you put into it, whether you're in the normal weight range, and if your body is use to it all are variables to how many calories you burn. Now I feel like I'm writing a short essay, lol, so I hope I helped. Here's a web site to assist you more...http://www.nutristrategy.com/activitylist4.htm

It depends on how much you weigh and how fast you run, but these are estimates:

175 lb person, 45 minutes, 992 calories
175 lb person, 60 minutes, 1323

This would be for a continual run, not casual jog with stops.
