Modern civilization has done everything possible to annihilate the religions and spiritual lives of indigenous peoples.

It has converted (usually by force), it has destroyed, it has desecrated, it has scorned, it has burned, it has pronounced evil, it has ruined.

And only the strong survived.

Well, by destroying most indigenous cultures, not to mention most of the indigenous people (at least in north america), I'd say modern civilization has had a substantial impact on indigenous spirituality, and my guess would be that not much of it has been all that enlightened.

which people are we talking about here?
modern civilization has destroyed not just the spiritual lives of indigenous people but has also held us hostages.we cannot progress spiritually no more!only a few who are extremely alert can make progress.
society was meant to lead its people but now what do we see?what has civilization got to offer this days?morbid sensuality!this is the worse plague consuming everything on its path.we are all victims!look around you and tell me what you see?TV,radios,Internet,magazines teenagers and even listen to toddlers!all is well accepted to!it makes me sick to the stomach!but its not to late.you don't have to be a victim no more!

Do you have the time to read a book?. Generally speaking even though the outer practices of spirituality and dress have been greatly modified, i sense that deep down if some choose the spiritual path they are as free and unencumbered as they where in the past to pursue their spiritual quest.
