I just watching a DVD on weddings from around the world...The American(west,British, english) ones were the slowest amd most boring.. of all ,,others were full of music, bright colors and everyone just beautiful, the people were all so happy, cheering, dancing an that wasn't even the reception yet. I guess it's tradition, but who made it so....ummm....blah? by the way...i am American..

I know..I agree. I can't figure out what I want to do either. I don't want these cookie cutter weddings.

I was thinking renting out a bed and breakfest with a pool and having an outdoor party.

i think of the brides mom and the husbands mom do a great style of making plans. a minimum of thats the way it became for me. My husband supplied me a dowry. as that's the muslim guy that grants a dowry, no longer the lady how that's right here interior the states. The dowry would properly be money, a vehicle, the present of coaching Al Quran, regardless of. You sign the marriage settlement, the imam could say some words, it is it. The bride many times has a henna occasion the nighttime earlier the marriage. After there's a huge reception. Islamic weddings are actually not that particular from the weddings right here. of path, there'll by no potential be any garter removing!

Weddings are very overrated. I'm an Aussie but i think all weddings are boring if you follow traditions. I got married at sunset on the beach in Fiji this year. We did it how we wanted it, and the people who were important to us came with us. We got married barefoot, spent the morning swimming and drinking cocktails, the afternoon relaxing, and the rest of the night partying. Do it your way. Think of the important things. Don't worry about a dress that you will never wear again, wedding cars that you'll pay the earth for. Go with what you and your fiance want. This is your marriage.

I agree. Weddings are all about who can impress who the most. It's not about how much you can impress, it's about celebrating the love you share with your partner. Who cares if it's low budget or the most gorgeous wedding ever. The only thing that matters is everyone has a great time and they all know how much you love one another!

People celebrate in different ways...just because most Christian weddings are solemn, doesn't mean they are blah...people are respectful to what is going on instead of running around and cheering like hooligans...

I don't know- but then I've been lucky to be to a few weddings that weren't blah.

The worst wedding I ever attended was when the minister was the bride's grandfather - he droned on and on, and I had to try to keep a toddler still, since they insisted she be there. Bah!

Because most brides of American weddings plan their wedding and they don't want things that distract people from them, since most of them think they are the most important part of it (or only important part of it). The things you're talking about pull people's attention away from the bride.
