National Poetry Contest….
The national poetry contest was down to the last two contestants,
one was a Harvard Graduate….and the other a high school drop out from the Ozarks.
They are both given a word to study for one minute,
and they are both instructed to write a short poem using the word
Timbuktu
The Harvard Graduate goes first, and his Poem goes something like this:
“100 men in a Caravan, trekking across the dessert Sand…
Men on Camels, two by two….
Destination…..Timbuktu.”
The Judges all nod in agreement that this was an excellent Poem and would be tough to beat,
Then the drop out from the Ozarks took the podium to recite his poem, and he said:
“Me and Tim, a huntin we went……
Met three whores in a Pop up Tent….
They was three, and we was two….
So I bucked one,
and
Timbuktu!”
