Have cereal, non-sugar and unsweetened at home in the morning with a piece of fresh fruit. Pack your lunches the night before to save on roach coach fare. Not everyday, we all need to change habits gradually for real change to occur. Your first week challenge yourself to make lunch the night before three times that week. Buying lean deli meat a head of lettuce and having control of your condiment load helps a lot. Also it cuts back you soda intake, pack bottled water and 100% fruit juices instead. If you can take on one mealtime each week for a couple of months in the above fashion you'll get into dinners too. For a parent they are the most difficult so start with the other two! If you keep eating out for dinner try varying the menu by ordering take-out over drive-thru. Many Asian cuisines are cheap and have steamed vegetables.

I buy bulk dried soup mix at the health food store. They're super-easy, cheap and quick for lunches. For dinner, fresh food is always cheaper than processed food. Hit up the supermarket, buy whatever veggies are on sale and serve them with brown rice or couscous (try buying those bulk). Make a huge batch of vegetable soup and freeze half of it. Buy salad greens and add in some bulk seeds, then use a combo of olive oil and balsamic vinegar (or lemon juice) for dressing. Read flyers and shop around the for the best deals.

spaghetti and meatballs...grilled ham and cheese sandwiches (add tomato)....ham steaks, bow tie pasta and peas...
Kid's favorite meatballs...(you can use low sodium soups)
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup chopped onion
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup
1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed chicken and rice soup
1/2 cup water
1 pound ground beef
1 egg
1/8 cup milk
2 slices bread
DIRECTIONS
Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Saute green pepper and onion for 5 minutes, or until tender. Stir in the tomato soup, chicken & rice soup and the water and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and allow to simmer.
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, combine the ground beef, egg and milk. Break the bread into very small pieces and add to the bowl. Mix together well. Shape the meat mixture into meatballs and drop them into the soup mixture. Continue to simmer over low heat, uncovered, for 45 to 60 minutes. Stir occasionally, but be very careful not to break the meatballs.

pita sandwiches!!
1. dip strips of chicken in flour, then in beaten egg, then in flour again.. this makes the fried chicken extra crispy!
2. fry chicken till golden brown
3. cut pita bread into half and stuff with shredded lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes etc
4. squeeze in mustard, mayo and ketchup/chilli sauce
5. add in 2-3 strips of fried chicken
enjoy!! hope that helps! it's one of the easiest, simplest, cheapest and most satisfying recipes ever!!
