sounds like psoriasis. does it bleed in little dots when scratched? is it cracked and flaky yet? psoriasis is caused by dry skin and heredity. try eucerine cream or a bath in calamine lotion followed by the eucerine cream or lotion, or even try tripple antibiotic ointment like neosporin or a combination of all of that, the ointment will help heal it, the cream or lotion will moisten it, the calamine will stop the itch. or if you have an empty medecine cabinet do you have an aloe plant? crack it open and start rubbin. stay away from perfumes and bubble baths no matter what it may be. call the doc first thing monday morning. if he starts to swell, find it tight while breathing, or the rash gets very hot to the touch or even he gets a fever, you may wanna get to a hospital. it could get severe depending on what it is. i'm not there to see if it resembles psoriasis, nor am i a doc! do a search on skin rashes with images...good luck. let me know what it is when you choose a best answer, if you know by then. i'm curious........good luck!

Yes it could be chlorine, but if you have chlorine in your water, then you would have noticed this before. Depending on where he has been it could also be poison ivy, not every rash on everyone is the same actually. There is another thing that small children get from each other, scabies, it is like lice, but on the skin, causing rash and itching. The only thing to do about that is to go to his doctor. He can give him something for it. Hope for fast recovery!!!

If you are not willing to take him to the doctor, try children's benadryl. If it is an allergy, that will help it go away and pretty quickly. However, this may make him very sleepy.
If it does not go away, take him to a regular doctor for diagnosis.
It sounds very much like the rind of rash I get from contact with mold.

-----Rash all over his body? I think a doctor should see him at once. Take him to the hospital Emergency Room now, tonight, if you can not get him to a doctor any other way. That is what the ER is for. -----Jim

Instead of making out this long appeal for help on the net, I wish you had taken the child to a paediatrician, or even a GP. Why are you wasting our time?
