I'm nervous as hell about a 'friend' coming over. We're drinking... but what do I do until then. I don't wanna seem to shy cause we've known each other for a while now, just not personally. I've been a customer where he works.

It's not unusual to feel nervous in that situation; however, you can do a few things that will help. Practicing deep breathing + relaxation helps. Make a mental list of things to ask him about himself (most folks love to talk about themselves). I would also suggest that you just be honest and tell him when he arrives that you are feeling a bit nervous- chances are pretty good that he's feeling nervous too, so that will help break the ice.

Remember he is a friend and knows a lot about you. When you find yourself nervous, i.e., talking fast, etc., take a very slow breath in thrugh the nose and slowly exhale through the mouth (a yoga technique). And, if needed, be honest and tell him you are nervous. Good chance he is too.

The best advise is to have fun and remember it is okay to be shy when the relationship is changing.

You might calm yourself by taking some slow deep breaths and using positive self talk. Tell yourself that everything is okay and will work out just fine. Try saying "relax" over and over as you take those deep breaths.

You also might use visual imagery where you see yourself in your favorite place such as a warm white sandy beach with warm ocean water cascading over your feet. These tactics usual work for me and will likely work for you, too, if you give it a try.

Cheers!

This sounds like you're just going to be having sex anyway, so you might as well drink. UNLESS you don't want to have sex, then stay sober.

There's got to be a reason you're nervous. If he's cool, then tell him you're nervous and go from there.

Be careful and don't cloud your judgment if you need to make decisions....but if this is just a booty call, drink up and have a good time!!

don't drink. If you both get drunk, you know you'll end up having sex. But, if that's what your going for, then keep in mind that drinking causes liver damage and too much might mean you might need to get some of it surgically removed.

Just saying.
