It all depends on the circumstances.
If I say to my neighbor,"I'm going to sue you." while knowing I have no grounds, that is actually legal.
But, if say this corporation is your employer or has some direct affect on you, then yes that is called extortion and is illegal.

Not enough info, about what type of business, who ar they threatening and so on.
For example a busienss may tel a labor union if they don't agree to the new contract they will close and move to Mexico,
Or that they will go in and burn the factor before they agree tot he new contract.
And most business threaten to sue or do some legal action if you don't drop you case
A colletions company can't threaten to have someone arrested or take thier house ( but many do)

be more specific in your question as to what you are talking about. what illegal action is a business trying to take?
Ok dude, look, if your saying they are threatening to do something like take you to court, then thye can do that all they want, now if you mean they are threatening to like fire you if you dont do something they want you too and its eitehr against the law or company policy then no they cant do that and you can take them to court. I dont know if that helps but hey you gave us very little to work with.

Not enough info. However, I guess it is illegal for anyboday to take an action they cannot legally take. I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here and guess that you are involved in a civil issue. My advice...get a civil attorney and go to court.
