You don't say what kind of connection you have. If you are on dial-up, the line is tied up unless you have something like the Emerson Switchboard. If you have DSL, the internet and telephone calls share the line with no problem.

Sure..Get the phone company voicemail service. For instance, if I am on-line, I can get up to 8 calls at once with their voicemail option! Another trick I like is call-forwarding. When I am on-line, my calls go to my cell phone!! AND, I can tell who is calling. (I don't have Caller ID, but on a call-forward to a cell, you have CID sent with the forwarded call.)

You have two options if you want to be able to do that.
DSL or some carriers have a call waiting feature that allows you to disconnect to answer the waiting call.
