our eyes dilate when we're in low light conditions to see better.....or they dilate if there's a medical problem. Our sphyncters dilate in our stomach when food enters and when food leaves, and also the sphyncters in your anal canal dilate everytime you have a bowel movement.

time dilations with astronauts..there's a difference in time onboard a shuttle because of the velocities in which astronauts travel...a womans cervix dilates before she gives birth to let the baby out of the birth canal...

Dilations are when sphincter (round) muscles relax, opening their lumen (the hole in the middle.) The word can also refer to any sort of expansion.
