after the revelations (pun intended) about Haggard? Seriously, I live outside the U.S. so would like to know what the reaction has been.

Right now I think most of them are kneeling in prayer, sweat bleeding from their clasped hands, saying "Make Kerry say something else stupid!"

Seriously all Christians hate it. Many are in shock. Many are pointing their fingers and saying "I told you so". Haggard was a Charismatic. They believe they can lose their salvation and fall deep into sin. Then come to church next Sunday and repent and start all over again. They are on the outer fringe of Christianity. The Charismatic church is very large and independent. They have few rules and regulations. They allow practices that most older churches do not. I don't mean drug use and homosexuality. Haggard was fake and very good at it. He fooled the people in his church. They will probably take him back after he repents.
I feel sorry for his family, and his church.

As a Christian, I am saddened by the news about Haggard. He knew better. But he is a sinner just like the rest of us, needing a Savior. We could all fall. The ones he hurt the most are not other believers, but his wife and 5 children. I grieve for them. I pray for them. And I also pray for the unbelievers who have just gotten more fodder for their scepticism and doubts. Christ does not change. People do. Jesus did not fail. Ted did. There are no emergency board meetings in heaven because of what happened. God knew and sees hearts. But I pray that true Christians will be praying for the Haggard family, for their church , and for the sceptical world. This has touch many people. Pray for your own pastor tonight. None of us should stand alone....we all need each other.

I think more are acting surprised more than they should or perhaps more than they really are.

We know and admit that man is a sinner and that all sorts of evil lurk in all of our hearts, And we know that we are all tempted, and leaders even more than the rest of us.

Or even worst, just because one becomes wealthy and an important leader, it does not mean that they honestly believe, but only that they are able to build support.

Most of your best preachers are in little churches of 40 people getting no pay and never gettng any attention.

I think he merely shows as did the bible show us that all of us can sin, no one is too good or beyond it.
Sadly if it is true what they say about him, then he isnot ready to repent and admit his guilt.

Pastor Ted Haggard has stepped down from his leadership positions in the NAE and the church he pastored in Colorado Springs. He said he didn't play hanky panky with Mr Jones. He said he got Meth but didn't use it and threw it away. Now his colleagues will investigate and we will know more and more as the days go by.

Yes, it is sad whenever a Christian leader, pastor, priest, etc. fails - the repercussions caused by the hypocrisy causes many to doubt. They are more responsible for people losing their faith than all the atheists combined.

However, as a Christian I must remind myself that we are all human and need the grace and forgiveness of God. He doesn't need our judgment, what he needs is our prayers.

They are celebrating - most of them want to party like Ted Haggard, and now they are free to do so.

Anyone stupid enough to send money to millionairs who live like kings in mansions. Believeing that somehow God rewards them for giving money to rich people. He is a commercial.
But they will forgive and make up some excuse and send him to rehab. Some big rich resort and pay for it while he recouperates.
They are like pharasees. Rich money lovers.
