Please help! Restarted my computer and the desktop comes up however when I try and click on any icon nothing happens, and on the lower left side of the toolbar the icons that used to be there are nothing but a blue space. I have Windows XP, and what I did prior to restarting was unistalling Spybot S+D. Anyone have any suggestions? I've already restarted several times.

Try re-starting in Safe Mode (F5 at boot?), then you might be able to do a System Restore back to a time before the troublesome sotware.

Restart the computer but hit the F8 key at start up. Select start windows in safe mode. and see if it can boot up normally

Restart using a booting disk (a CD that has the system installed on it). Then reinstall Windows.

I would do a virus scan. Or windows update to see if theres something that has been updated. I would also check to see if theres any ad-aware. If that dont work, I would probably get my restore disc in case you accidently deleted something that was needed.
good luck! :)

I would really run your recovery CD or try and make it to system restore because it looks like something got messed up during the uninstall process.
