Just about anything that's not extremely gooey or sticky. And nothing to hard or your brackets will comes off, the dentist will give you a list but soem stuff on thier such as gum won't hurt anything. ;)

At first anything soft, your teeth will be so sore that you will think they will fall out. After a week or so, anything you want that does not bother you, the normal things you ate before. When you go back to the dentist for an adjustment, they will be a little sore for a few days, then you are back to normal. I would say that after the first 3 visits, you will be fine. Don't worry, you will never regret this. I had braces and I am glad my parents insisted upon this, now I am proud of my smile. God send.

I had braces twice. The first time i had them, anything hard would break them(pretzels, candy), but the second time, i ate whatever i wanted, and nothing happened at all. So, maby it has to do with how well they're put on, im not sure....most people are fine eating whatever they want...They also say that sugars dissolve the cement, that attaches the brace to the tooth, which could make them more likely to disconnect for fall off.

I had braces for about three years. They say you shouldn't chew gum or eat things too sticky so the bands around your molars won't be pulled out. I think soda can break down the glue on the bands too, which would make them become lose or come out. If they do come out its no biggie to get them glued back in. Otherwise you can eat whatever you want, just keep everything clean because its easy for food to get stuck between your teeth and the metal wire wrapped around all of your teeth.
It might be painful now, but its worth it in the end.
Good luck!

More like, what can't you eat.
No hard chips, apples (unless cut up) sticky candy. You'll figure it out pretty quick but the ortho will give you a list of stuff NOT to eat. If you cut up the food instead of biting it off, you should not break any wires.
There are foods that are harder to clean (out) behind your braces. Be sure to carry a small toothbrush when you eat out. Head to the restroom after eating.
