I feel like a take my life for granted. I have a good home, family, boyfriend and friends and there's always something to eat in our house. I do well in school. But I don't feel happy. Tips on realizing my luck?

how old are you? if you are relatively young it could be because you are still searching for your place in life. It sounds to me like you realize that you have a lot of good things in your life, so perhaps your depression is simply hormones. If at any point you start to have erratic mood swings or severe depression and thoughts of suicide it would be a serious medical problem. however you seem to have the feelings of a typical person for your age. Just keep the good things in your life.

Re-read all the good things you listed in your question. And yeah ^^^ spend some time with the less fortunate like the answer above says. DON'T stoop to taking anti-depressents or anything like that. YOU are the only person who can make yourself happy. No drug and no answer to this question will do the trick.

Volunteer for some truly down on their luck people.
A place giving free Thanksgiving meals would be a great start--help serve the food, and talk to the people afterwards.

you need to relized what you dont have and try to help the people who dont have as much as you. also do different things like sports or join a club because then you make so many friends that could probably relate to you and you all of you could have a good time together.

Spend time with homeless people, volunteer at the shelter and nursing home. Lights will come on you very quickly.
