He has been an outspoken critic of gay marriage and a staunch supporter of the family. He claimed he was buying meth, but did not have sex with that man. That man has a different story, and it is sordid. To err is human, but this is only one of many such stories. Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggert (wanted to have sex with a nine year old girl.) come to mind. Pat Robertson just wanted to kill the leader of a another country. Does Christianinty absolve all sins if you give generously to the Republican party?

Judge others, and prepare to be judged.

Another in a long line of reasons why it's good to be an atheist (no incentive to be dishonest).

He admitted to buying meth, but says he threw it away. Yeah, he probably smoked it but didn't inhale. :o

Did he have sex? Seems to be a case of "he said, she said." Wouldn't matter, if it didn't make him a hypocrite. I HATE hypocrisy!

It is a very sad time that this is happening. I am sorry for this person's wife and children. I must say though that it is about time we heard about the other Christian denominations other than just Catholics. The statistics show that there are just as many Methodists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Baptists etc. clergy that have sexual problems and these denominations can be married, so this invalidates the scrutiny on the celibacy of priests. Someone above said abstinence from sex is not natural. You can not judge the priesthood from this world's point of view because Jesus said his Kingdom is not of this world and he can supply the grace to do anything.

Those people who claim to be Christians will have to answer to God on Judgement Day (not the movie) for their sins. It IS sickening to watch people who call themselves Christian leaders do these disgusting things. God will judge them for these sins. God is a merciful God and will forgive them of there sins but they still need to be punished for them. God holds Pastors and Priests to a higher standard than others. Yet we should all strive to be more Chist-like. Republican or Democrat doesn't matter. It just so happens that more Pastors and Priest seem to be Republican that I can see. We shouldn't hate each other just because the other person is of another party. We are all Americans and we need to take care of America. The people who want to kill use just because we are of their faith are watching us and waiting for the perfect time to strike once again, when we are to involved with ourselves and we are looking inward trying to make John Kerry appologize better or make George Bush out to be an evil person who hates all.

Think about the opening line from the most recent War Of The Worlds movie with Tom Cruise.....Morgan Freeman opens with this...."No one would have believed in the last years of the nineteenth century that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own." *War of the Worlds 2005*

Now, there is NO WAY under the sun that I'm saying others are smarter than Americans......The thing that we need to worry about is that we are being watched.

That's a great question since I also do not really understand how a republican can be liberal or a democrat conservative. In my opinion, all republicans are conservative, but it looks like there are some people who do not think so. I guess that liberal republican is somebody who leans towards some liberal stuff that most republicans do not approve. Now, McCain is called "liberal" because: -he is far less religious than most conservatives (like Huckabee) -in 2005 he opposed a federal gay-marriage ban -he is farther Left on the immigration than most republicans

How does this balance against the reported number of priests who were punking little boys? You named 4. I could name 400 who have been in the news in the last 5 years and I'll bet that they were all liberals.

Who cares what Christianity does or does not absolve? What matters is God's opinion, right?

What it goes to show is that anyone can fake their faith. The evidence of a person's faith is shown in their lives, whether it's good or bad.

don't forget Falwel land Robertson's gleeful smirks on 9/11. They thought they were getting their End Times at last - but they only wound up showing their true colors.
