Homelessness in and of itself is not a physical or mental disease and therefore is not amenable to medical cures. You might say that homelessness is a social disease which can be remedied or abated through the use of social programs such as homeless shelters and food lines.
Also, job training for the homeless can sometimes help the socially disadvantaged learn a skill and lead a more productive life.
Unfortunately, there is no easy solution to this grave "social illness."
Cheers!

There are so many causes, from combat vets, to mentally ill, to the homeless with children, to children runaways, to a significant lack of almost any funding. No one care about the homeless. They are throwaways to out government. They do not vote, for the most part, so no one cares. The first thing we have to do is get people involved. We can solve with problem with enough resources. The city I live in has passed many laws to help the homeless and fund good programs. So in certain areas we are making a difference, There is hope but we must all help and vote for people that will make a difference.

A cure connotates a condition that can be remediated. Many people who are homeless are by choice. In past times there were other names for them including hobos.
For those unfortunately people are are homeless due to financial problems, what they need is a job so they can pay for a place to live.
Did you know that many of those individuals who stand on street corners make a very nice income?

Having worked directly with the homeless for 2 years, working to get them stable income and housing, I learned that unfortunately many of them do not desire to be "cured" strongly enough to do what is necessary to maintain their improvements once they achieve them. For instance, the majority of the homeless have substance abuse problems. When we put them into rehab programs, many kept using despite treatment and were kicked out, back onto the street. So, in actuality, the problem is not homelessness, it is the problems that lead to it, like substance abuse and mental illness. Cure those things and you'll see a dramatic reduction in homelessness. Best of luck to you...
