If I were in that position (which I haven't yet), I would probably act friendly, but not salker-like or like a lost puppy, just to let him know that you are still interested in him. Guys need that kind of assurance, especially when it comes to dating:) Don't ask how I know this, I just do from personal experience (I have dated more guys than my mother has!). He will most likely hold his answer if you follow him constantly and are, shall I say, clingy...? Just act like you normally would around him so that he doesn't get uncomfortable with your very presence. If you bug him too often, he will most likely think that you are trying to rush him into answering you right away. So, basically, just act like you normally would. This is the technique I have always used, and has always worked.

Well, I'm not a girl, but I would just flirt a lot, and just act like I'd been acting before. Be friendly! Charm him to death lol

This hasn't happened to me but if I were in this situation I would just be myself, make sure to say hello and not avoid him and not act like I am really interested, just stay cool!

i've done this but it was alot more complicated and i just acted the same. Hes going with you because your you. theres no reason to change the way your acting just because you have a date planned.
