i got my belly button pierced about a month and 1 week a go the first couple weeks it was red because of irritation but now it is healing just fine. The woman who did it said to leave in the ring for 2 months so I guess it should definatly be healed in 2 months..

I had my done 3 years ago, for the first 2 - 4 weeks it was quite weepy and red, I took really good care of it and only showered not bathed as recommended by piercer. By 6 to 8 weeks it was looking normal and it should look pretty much healed after that, no longer red and definitely not sore or uncomfortable. It actually took about 8 - 12 months to heal properly and this is normal. Piercer advised me that it would take that long!

Healing takes from 8-16 weeks, depending on your care of the piercing. Use anti-bacterial soap, and follow with 90% rubbing alcohol. This method will speed the process. My piercer also suggested a salt-water rinse.

i read one answer below and i would advise against alcohol. mine took at most 6 months to heal. i used sea salt. trust me it really works. if the people who pierced it didn't tell you that, they should've. keep a sea salt/water solution on your belly button for a few minutes a few times a day, every day. it'll get better. and don't use peroxide either. i also found out that when i would lie on my stomach, it would irritate the piercing. try to avoid that

does it look as though the ring is healing, but is actually getting closer to the skin surface? if so, then your body is rejecting the piercing. it does take a long time to heal, so make sure to keep it clean, and let it breathe. my body rejects any piercing, even ears. its genetics, because my brother can't pierce his ear either. if it doesn't look nasty, you're probably good.

i don't know how long it takes to heal, but if there is any redness or is warm to the touch, get to a Dr. quick..there is something being in that area that can cause something like "Perinitis"..not sure of the spelling..but check it out..
