I started braiding my daughters hair at about 2 months old but ofcourse I did not do them tight I put in single braids and by the time she was 4 months I was cornrowing it and she is 14 now and has a lot more hair than me plus she is not tender headed because she is so use to getting her hair done. As long as you don't braid it so tight that there are bumps you should be okay.

let me just tell you i have that "tight curly hair" too. i cornrow my hair ALL the time, and, as with most styles for "our" hair, it all depends. i'd advise not to cornrow it only because she's so young and sometimes people pull too tight which (1) hurts and (2) can pull out the hair. it might be difficult to cornrow that short of hair anyway. you can always just leave it curly. since she is so young, it'll just be cute! or you can put it in little afro puffs/pig tails. i used to wear those too. =) for something simpler, you can put on a cute little headband to keep it out of the way. maybe twisties? hope i helped a little!

Aw...I think afros on babies are so adorable. She's probibly a beautiful baby...as for the cornrows I have never had them but have been told by various people that if they are done too tight then they can cause pain and headaches. I would just wait until she's a little older.

Hugs to your beautiful baby!

She is too young for you to put cornrows in. This is a very time consuming process and takes too long for a 4 month old to sit still. Just keep her hair moisturized, use a light oil and brush it.

I think it is to young because human heads are so delicate when they are that young. I would start at like 2 :) I know you want your daughters hair to be beautiful but maybe you can put a little bow in it or something,

I don't know how to do it, but a friend of mine started braiding her daughter's hair after about a month. Of course a 'fro is cute too. You could try putting an elastic headband on her.

At 4 months leave her hair alone, she's not going anywhere except in her crib. Her hair will be fine.

I think that it's a little young to do that....plus...if she's only 4 months old - she's going to pull at her hair....she's not going to leave it alone...
