I love spa days at home. My favorite is to take a bath in epsom salts or a tea bath. Meditate with candels, read a self help motivation book, make a mask with fruit for the face, drink lots of water and lemon or green tea as you soak. Have fun! It's so good to do with yourself or a friend!

You could definitely have a spa day at home...start with an aromatherapy bath...maybe buy some really fresh scents and have it in your bathroom...sprinkle epsom salt or bubble bath in your bath tub..and soak for a while...give yourself a facial either with professional products or maybe some yogurt...you can always find a recipe for a facial online...if you have a foot bath..soak your feet, and give yourself a pedicure..if not, get a bowl large enough for your feet , add oils and maybe some fruit pieces like orange slices or lemon slices...use a peppermint scrub for your feet....wash your hair with aromatherapy shampoo...do a few of these things...and i think you will be satisfied..oh, and if you have a husband or boyfriend hand him the babyoil, and after your bath have him give you a rub down...

I love having a spa day at home. First you need to take a nice long bath that has bath salts(Bath &Body Works has a great selection to choose from.) After your bath, Cleanse your face with a cleanser that is formulated to your face's needs( oily, dry,ect...). Use a mask afterward and watch one of your favorite movies. Then give yourself a mani and a pedi and you are ready to go.

Tips To Stop Hair Loss & Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

- Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo & massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

- Essential oils & tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

- Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

- keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

- Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

- After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

- Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

- Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

- Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

- Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

- Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

- Avoid "crash and fad" diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

- Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

- Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

- Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc & saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

- The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney & liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

- Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

- Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

* Beans
* Yogurt
* Almonds
* Vitamin B
* Fish
* And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products.

YouR SkiN:

Keep your face clean and don't overscrub it. This will only irritate your skin and make you more prone to breakouts. Wash your face twice a day with antibacterial soap, three times a day for acne prone skin. To avoid aggravating pimples, stay away from harsh soaps and fragrances.

To avoid transferring bacteria and germs, clean your pillowcase, washcloths, towels, make-up brushes and applicators frequently. Try washing your make-up applicators in antibacterial soap or clarifying shampoo. Keep your hair clean and out of your face. Along the same line, keep your phone mouthpiece and writing instruments away from your chin and clean them often.

If your skin is oily, use an over the counter cleanser that contains salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide to start the drying process. If you're experiencing one of those painful "under the skin, cystic" pimples, put a warm compress on it to drain it first, then dry it up with benzoyl peroxide. Sometimes putting a small piece of tape on your blemish overnight will help draw out the fluid and infection.

Beauty Tips

Hassle Free Beauty Tips for Hardworking Women

Working fulltime and trying to raise a family does not leave much energy or time to worry about one’s makeup. For professional females, getting dolled up for work and play may have become a thing of the past long ago. With just a few spare moments, though, quick and easy beauty tricks can refresh a woman’s look instantly.

For those playing double (or triple) roles as corporate professional and wife and/or mother, applying makeup before starting the day may be the last thing on their minds. Check out the following tips for a new beauty regimen in less than five minutes!

Blemishes and dark spots
Even if you do not have enough time for anything else, use a concealer stick, cover-up or powder makeup to mask blemishes and dark circles under your eyes. Concealing unsightly marks on one’s face should take about one to two minutes if only treating specific problem areas. Visine eye drops may be applied to reduce redness of blemishes before applying concealer.

Eyes
A single coat of mascara will only take about one moment per eye, giving just enough definition to lashes, bringing out your eyes. A soft dusting of eye shadow in a complementary shade to one’s choice of apparel will further enhance the eyes. Putting on eye color should take no more than a few seconds, though mascara alone is a good substitute if time does not permit eye shadow application.

Lips
For a soft, kissable look, slap some flavored or tinted lip-gloss on your lips. Lipstick or lip stain will draw more attention to your lips than lip-gloss, but either product will make a difference in the way you look and feel.

Hair
Invest in a few hairpins, clips and decorative sticks. Some types of hair accessories allow women to twist their hair up and pin it back, all in about 30 seconds. Spray gel or non-sticky hairspray may also come in handy in order to preserve the style and to secure fly-aways.

Finally, splash on some body spray or perfume and get ready to head out the door. By sparing only five to seven minutes in the morning, your new quick and easy makeup plan can be modified to fit your own beauty sense while giving you a simple foundation to effortless beautification.

Follow these tips to keep your skin as healthy, smooth, and sexy as ever!

* After a bath or shower, apply moisturizers to lock the moisture into your skin.

* Alternate between oil-based and water-based moisturizers if you have combination skin.

* Choose an oil-free, water-based moisturizer for oily skin.

* Choose a thick, oil-based moisturizer for exceptionally dry skin.

* Choose a gentle, fragrance-free, and hypoallergenic moisturizer for sensitive skin.

* Do not apply moisturizers too often because it can result in clogged pores.

* Focus on other body parts besides your face. Moisturizing is vital on dry elbows, knees, legs, breasts, and other areas that may be prone to flaking and chapping.

* It’s never too early to start moisturizing your skin and to protect it from the signs of aging.

* Mature skin may benefit from moisturizing products that contain alpha-hydroxy acid, selenium, or Tropoelastin.

* Pick a moisturizer that contains a low level of sunscreen, like SPF 15. It keeps your skin soft and smooth while preventing the negative effects of harmful UV rays.

* Strengthen your skin by choosing moisturizers that contain Vitamin A and Vitamin E.

* Wear lots of warm clothes, as well as gloves, scarves, and hats in the winter to prevent chapped skin and loss of moisture.

How To Have Beautiful Legs:

* If your legs are too fat, lose fat by going on a sensible diet and exercise. Start a regular sport activity or go to the gym.
* Sometimes, legs may not be fat, but look heavy, because of bad circulation. Put your legs and feet up.
* If your legs are too thin, improve them with exercise. The legs can look much more attractive with better muscle tone.
Walking and bicycling are wonderful exercises for shapely legs. At the office, walk up the stairs, instead of taking the elevator!
* Avoid standing for prolonged periods of time to reduce the appearance of varicose veins.
* Smooth legs look more appealing than fuzzy legs. Creams can be used as hair removers, and there are quite a number of shaving tools present in the market. But the best natural depilatory is a turmeric paste, apply it before a bath, and leave it on to dry.
* After a bath, make your skin feel good by moisturising it.
* Avoid excessive sun exposure
* Avoid baths that are too hot
* Elevate or raise your legs when sleeping
* Always finish your shower with a cold water jet on your legs
* Drink a lot

Inexpensive Face Masks

Inexpensive face mask treatments from your cupboard

* MAYONNAISE. Apply whole egg mayonnaise on your face (right from the jar) for about 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Great skin care treatment.

* PEACH & BRANDY. Mash up a peach (use ripe, canned or frozen) and mix in a tablespoon of brandy. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then rinse off.

* TOMATO MASK. For oily skin, mash up a ripe tomato and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm (not hot) water.

* BANANA MASH. Mash up a very ripe banana. Add just enough honey to make a soft pulp. Apply over face and hair. This is such a great firming mask that aging movie stars have been known to put it in the cups of their bras to make their breasts "perky." (Just make sure that you don't use too much honey and you use a sturdy bra.)

* HONEY MASK. Apply pure honey (straight from the bottle) to your face and neck. Allow it to set until dry (about 15 minutes). Rinse with very warm water.

* MILK OF MAGNESIA. Apply it straight from the bottle. Let it dry for about five to ten minutes. Rinse off with warm water, then gently pat your face dry with a fluffy towel.

* PEPTO BISMOL. This is a face mask particularly suited for those with sensitive skin. In the same way that this product coats the stomach, it gently caresses the face. Apply it straight from the bottle, using a cotton swab. Allow to dry, then rinse with cool water.

Baby Your Skin, Baby!

Models have known for years that products intended for babies are gentle, effective and save money. Consider these:

# BABY WIPES are great makeup removers, especially around the delicate eye area. They are also effective hand and face refreshers.
# BABY MOISTURIZERS are great for all skin types but the heavier ones are perfect for drier skin.
# MOST BABY LOTIONS are double-action products that gently cleanse and moisturize at the same time. If you have a tendency to overcleanse, these products are perfect because they won't strip skin of its natural oils. Plus, they are inexpensively priced at drugstores and mass merchandise stores.
# SUNSCREEN formulated for babies contains a very high SPF. Plus, several contain balms that both cool and calm heat-irritated skin.
# BABY FORMULATED SHAMPOOS are extremely gentle to hair and won't strip color.
# BABY OILS AND BATH TREATMENTS contain natural, nourishing ingredients for skin. Look for brands listing lavender and chamomile as ingredients.

Exfoliate!

The Why And How Of Exfoliating

After you cleanse your face, you should "exfoliate." This is very much like the process of peeling an onion or removing tiles from a roof. Exfoliating is necessary for getting the blood flowing into the face, as well as for removing grime.

Take a packet of sugar (raw sugar works the best), add a couple drops of olive oil to create a spreading condition, then gently rub it into the creases of your face.

Open a packet of instant oatmeal, mix it with water and create a paste. Rub this mixture into your face, then rinse off the residue.
Suggestion: Use instant oatmeal on your face, while using the traditional "old-fashioned" oatmeal to exfoliate the entire body.

Rub sea salt (available in health food sotres) all over both your body and your face. You'll love its invigorating effects.

Fab Feet

How To Get Fabulous Feet

It's time to take off the sneakers and socks and slip your feet into a sexy pair of sandals. Here's how to make sure that your feet look terrific.

1. Soak your feet for about ten minutes.

2. Pat feet dry.

3. Clip toenails straight across. Or, if you would rather, use an emery board (but wait until toenails are completely dry).

4. Using pumice stone, remove any rough areas.

5. Massage cuticle area with a little oil or moisturizer.

6. Gently push back cuticles.

7. Apply foot lotion and massage into each foot.

8. Remove any excess lotion.

9. If you wish to apply polish follow the procedure below.

10. Put a small amount of polish on your brush; paint one stroke down the center of your nail. Your brush should hold just enough color to accomplish this. Stroke the sides of the nail and you are done.

11. Wait until polish is set (dry to the touch) and then apply the top coat. Don't skip this step as it not only adds life to your pedicure, it will protect your nails as well.

12. Sanitize all of your equipment with alcohol and when they are dry, store them away until the next manicure or pedicure.

Glow Like A Rose

For a rosy face...

These are homemade treatments that will put a rosy glow on your face. :-)

1. Boil fresh rose petals and use this rose water instead of plain water for your skin treatments.

2. Prepare a rose facemask by grinding a handful of petals into a paste. Apply on clean skin and leave the application on for 15 to 25 minutes. Then wash with plain water (no soap). Your complexion will be smooth and glowing.

Stretch Marks

Unpleasant stretch marks

Stretch marks can be a nuisance and they are not easy to get rid of. If you already have them, keep in maind that it takes time, patience and regular skincare before you can fade stretch marks away.

What can you do?

* If you massage your body regularly with coconut and almond oil, it will keep stretch marks away.
* Consult a doctor to start with a daily dose of Vitamin E capsules. Vitamin E is believed to improve stretch marks. Or, add a couple of vitamin E capsules to your body massage oil.
* It is believed that smearing the area with egg white and letting it dry before washing off with ice cold water regularly can help in getting rid of stretch marks completely.

How Long To Store Makeup

Have you ever wondered about all of those little palettes of color and if they are really too old to be useable any longer? It hurts to throw away makeup that hasn't been used up, but for safety's sake, you should give it a little thought.
According to the FDA:

"Cosmetic products are generally formulated and tested for a shelf life of 1- 3 years under normal storage conditions, depending on a product's composition, packaging, preservation, and other factors. Consumers should be aware that expiration dates are simply "rules of thumb," and that a product's safety may expire long before the expiration date if the product has not been properly stored. Cosmetics that have been improperly stored, for example exposed to high temperatures or sunlight or opened and examined by consumers prior to final sale, may deteriorate substantially before the expiration date. On the other hand, products stored under ideal conditions may be acceptable long after the expiration date has been reached."

Even properly stored, contaminants will get "into" the product... especially eye makeup. Think about what you are using to dip into the product each time...

So a good a rule of thumb of how long makeup can be stored:

* Lipstick: 1 year
* Eye Makeup : 3 months
* Blush: 6 months
* Nail Polish: 2 years if stored properly

Bath Treatments

Soothing Bath Treatments

Stress Relief
Brew three cups of very strong chamomile tea. Add to bath water. Chamomile is soothing, healing properties that ease away tension.

Oily Skin
Add to bath water any combination of citric fruits, such as lemons, oranges, and grapefruits. Citric acids kill bacteria, remove impurities, and dry up excess oil. It is the ultimate aroma therapy, and a great way to use overripe fruits.

Dry Skin
Add baking soda to bath water to moisturize skin.
Fight dryness by adding ten drops of rose oil under running water. If you want true luxury, add some rose petals. Rose oil hydrates skin, is a wonderful scent, and helps prevent spider veins.

Hint: Oil and water don't always mix well. So, it might be necessary to add a little milk to help them to diffuse better.

Skin Softener
Mix together three cups uncooked oatmeal, two cups wheat bran, and 1/4 cup aloe vera gel. Spoon into a fine mesh cheesecloth or to a knee-high nylon sock. Add to bath. After soaking, use ibag to cleanse skin.
Brew ten ginseng tea bags in a large teapot. Pour into bath. Ginseng helps soften, tone, and refine skin, and it fights aging.
Add a pagkage of Jell-O to a warm bath. Sit in the tub for at least fifteen minutes.

Skin Exfoliator
Toss a packet of powdered milk under running bath water. Milk's lactic acid will remove dead skin cells, and leave skin's texture baby soft.

Anti-bloating
Mix two teaspoons ginger with two teaspons dried mustard. Add to bath. The ingredients are perfect for menstrual bloating and discomfort.

Sleep Enhancer
Add two teaspoons dried lavender mixed with one teaspoon lavender oil to filled bathtub. Lavender's relaxing fragrance will put you in the mood for a night of beauty sleep.

Detoxifier
Add 1/2 pound sea salt with one pound of baking soda. Add to warm tub. Soak until water is cool. This bath not only soothes the skin, but helps it dispose of toxic wastes.

Hint: Salt will help keep bath water warm longer. Salt slows the transfer of heat from the water to the air.

Perfect Pedicure

Perfect Pedicures in 12 Simple Steps
By Kate D'Imperio

Materials:

* Basin or tub
* Foot Soak, Epsom salt or bath salts
* Pumice footstone
* Small brush
* Nail polish remover / cotton balls
* Nail polish
* Base coat for nails
* Top coat for nails
* Clippers
* File
* Orangewood stick (Cuticle stick)
* Lotion
* Foot scrub treatment

Whether you are in the mood to pamper yourself or just starting to get dolled up, a pedicure can be one of the most soothing and relaxing body treatments after a long day. If you find yourself surrounded by unavoidable stress factors day-to-day, wash your cares away with a pedicure! Just follow these easy steps:

Step 1: Begin to fill a basin (or your bathtub) with several inches of warm water. Add desired amount of foot soak, bath salts or Epsom salt so that it dissolves in the water as the tub fills.

Step 2: While the tub is filling, remove any old polish from your toes with nail polish remover and cotton balls. If necessary, clip and file nails to desired shape and length.

Step 3: Grab a good book or magazine, turn on some music, or just sit back and enjoy the warm water on your tired feet. Soak for as long as you like, but at least 5-10 minutes.

Step 4: Using the small brush, gently buff one foot first and then the other. This will help to remove some dead skin cells and also to soften your feet.

Step 5: Using a foot scrub (Freeman’s makes a great one-Barefeet: Plum and Pumice foot scrub), massage the cream onto your feet, paying special attention to your heels and any rough spots. This will further soften and exfoliate.

Step 6: A pumice footstone can work wonders for dry and rough feet! Use this inexpensive extra to eliminate remaining rough spots. Dip feet after this step.

Step 7: Remove both feet from the tub and dry feet with towel. Massage your favorite lotion onto them. (Some companies even have a line of foot massage lotions!)

Step 8: Using orangewood stick, gently push your cuticles back along the nail. They should be supple due to the soaking.

Step 9: If you wish to paint your toenails, you can use toe separators to facilitate the process. Apply a base coat of nail polish to fill in the ridges and uneven surfaces. Base coats are generally clear or slightly opaque and they help to strengthen the nail to avoid breakage.

Step 10: Choose your desired shade of nail polish and apply. Allow first coat to dry and repeat. (Hint: For touch-ups, dip a Q-tip in the nail polish remover and gently swab away the unwanted color.)

Step 11: Apply a crystal-clear topcoat to add shine and to protect color from chipping.

Step 12: Enjoy your smooth, soft feet and beautified toes! You are now ready to sport your favorite sandals or cozy up at home in your comfiest slippers. Whatever the occasion, your feet will look and feel great!

Approximate Time Required: 45 minutes to an hour, depending on personal preference.
