It is written to not forsake the assembling together especially when you see the age of Christ nearing.

So, since I obey God, I go. I quit after I married & moved. 10 yrs later had a 1 yr physical, emotional & spiritual breakdown. God delivered me from that beakdown at my Church.

So I have understood the hard way that it is dangerous to not go to church.

I pay a tithe of my personal increase. Offerings to where ever the Lord leads.

Church can be anywhere, a field, a barn, a trailer. The point of going to church is two fold, 1 Fellowship and learning. Fellowship with your fellow man and to learn more of God's word. 2. Forgiveness. church is a formal place to ask God for forgiveness for your sins. Some religions require that you confess you sin to a priest or the congregation.

I don't go, but my cousin give at least 10%.

Most people go to Church to worship God. You are right He is everywhere. Church is a place where you shold meet with foolow men or women of common faith and worship God. But most have a Sunday religion. As long as on there Sunday I'm ok Monday- Sat. to do what I want. No God want to followship with us everyday. Yes the Bible says to give 10%. But it also says to give with a cheerful heart. If you give to just do a religious act it means nothing. God has really been speaking to me about doing thing because I love Him. I give because I love Him. It helps to think that why so you dont become a robot. " Yes Master as you wish" God wants " Yes Master, I love you." I hope this clears up confusion. Reminder please dont watch tbn its not right and they only want money so find a good church who talk about Jesus not money. Anymore questions email me guyinzion@yahoo.com

The point of GOING (I am Roman Catholic.) to church is for MY soul, and morale. I also go because this is part of MY community, and I like to catch up with people lives. GOD being everywhere does NOT relieve me of MY responsibilities to express my love for GOD in the midst of my community. MY actions joining with MY community strengthen ME. Seeing the new babies grow into school age then young adults is very special. Seeing people through the years is also special. Once a week? Which religion are you specifically referring to?
As for money - I give less than some and more than others. (Others are a poorer family than the Somes.)
I give time when I am needed as often as I can. I pray often also. Money is NOT a cure all, but it is needed to pay the bills. Time is better spent helping people that the church suggests, or praying. I give
Also, to return to church service, visiting people in hospitals, or care facilities brightens their life so much, I do not have the words to express this. As they are unable to be with their community/family. A persons morale can be boosted by these services.

Hebrews 10:24 says do not forsake the gathering of yourselves together. It helps us to stay strong in our faith and to minister to others in need. We are in the same family and should want to be together. You cannot get healing in your life if you avoid people and stay at home. God uses people. That is just a fact.
I do give 10% and actually more and God always takes care of me. I have never been without what I needed. It is a privilege to let God use not only my money but also my talents and time for his kingdom. I love to help others.

I go to mass every sunday for the homily from the priest of my church. Life is difficult and sometimes, it's hard to live the way we need to and our priest has a way of really making you see things in ways you didn't see them before. I go to mass every sunday to pray with others of my faith and for spiritual guidance.

In answer to your other question, no I don't. Our priest has always said that something like that is simply not possible for some people. My wife and I can't afford to give that much away. He encourages everyone to donate what they can and we do.

And I noticed someone's answer about going to church every sunday "to get the pastor rich." If you notice, churches don't get donations and welfare checks from the government to help them when they're in trouble, so they rely solely on the donations of the congregation and with fund raisers. Our church also has a special donation that goes to a sister parish trying to get going in a third world country.

I don't go to church anymore, and I never tithed 10%. The purpose of going (for me) was to get together with people who were like-minded on a spiritual level, where we could hear a nice message from our pastor, pray and sing together and send positive energy to the world. It was nice being in a positive, uplifting environment with people we enjoyed. But, I don't think all churches are like that!!! I think many are places people go to sleep.

I am a Muslim, I will tell you why we gather in the mosque, maybe you can apply the same reasons on why you go to church.

Its simply because god likes to receive his prayers from a group rather than from one, however, when one is alone, he can tell god what he can't in the church, besides, when you are in a church or a mosque, or a temple, its a place of religious rituals, so you are least likely to think about other aspects of life while you are there, it makes your mind purer.

Great question! I consider myself a believer who has never felt the need for a go-between... i.e. a church... God doesn't speak in mysterious phrases that require translation or interpretation or explanation. God doesn't use big words that my little pea brain can't understand. He speaks in in the simple words of the heart. Listen and you shall hear. Look and you shall see. No need to pay a broker 10% for clarification.

church is a place where you can step up to the altar and be baptised where you can take the bread and whine and make an offering to god in this case its money

the funny thing is ask a wiccian what she dose with her gods...? she steps up to the altar and onits herself with oil (baptisim) and she drinks the wine whiile saying a prayer (:0) and she makes an offering to the gods depending on what the ceremony is for (not money) and this has been around for a lot longer then christianity or any of those religions sound familiar doesn't it??
