I am NOT HAPPY!! TOday is my firstborn's 9th birthday, and I brought two packages of storebought, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to the school for his b-day treat. Each pack of cookies (tollhouse, baked at and bought from target) had 20 cookies, so I bought two becuase I know there's 22 or 23 people. I figured if there were a couple absent or whatever each kid could have 2 cookies. So I bring it to the office in the target bag, and stuck a post it on there with my son's name, room number, and reason for treat. (School proticol.) Found out after dinner when I asked TOm how it went that only ONE pack of cookies was brought down to the room. Each child got ONE cookie. I AM PISSED!!!!! I am jumping to the conclusion that the teachers kept a box for the lounge! I plan on emailing his teacher, but I need to cool down first so I don't make myself an @ss. Please give me your advice and thoughts. THanks!!!!

That's messed up. It's not a matter of being cheap or jumping to conclusions, if staff took them thats stealing. I would find out what happened, ask teacher, principal, front secretary, whomever. If something happened like they fell on the floor you should have been told. If you find out that anything else had happened with them, write a letter of complaint, you don't wanna go into the office and rant about your sons lost cookies and become the crazy cookie mom. Good Luck!

You know, There was a little indoor parade at my daughters school the day before halloween, each kid dressed up and brought a snack for the whole class. Now, there are 28 kids in her class, she is in kindergarten. I let her bring in 2 bags of teddy grahams with 18 individually wrapped packages in each. That makes 36 all together. Now, keep in mind all the rest of the kids were supposed to bring in a snack too. Well, I go into her classroom after the parade and she has 4 snacks. I don't know how many the rest of the kids got, but she got 4, that did not include a packet of teddy grahams that I let her bring in. I look over on the table in the corner of the room, while the rest of the parents were picking up their kids too and BOTH bags of 18 packets each, unopened were sitting on the table. I think her damn teacher kept the bags. That made me so mad. I mean, there is no way she forgot about 2 big bags sitting right in front of her face. And you know something else, she didn't even say a word to me when I was in the classroom, and I never met her before.
We are both in the same situation. Here is what I did. I kept my mouth shut. Why? Because it was only a couple of bags of teddy grahams and I didn't want to take the chance of the teacher taking it out on my daughter if I said anything about it. It was hard, but I didn't say anything at all for my daughter.

I'd definetely bring it up with the teacher... but keep in mind that kids don't always tell (or remember, or know how to relay) the whole story. I have a 10yr old and she's not the best at accurately conveying information! ;) Could be that the teacher only ALLOWED each kid one cookie because there wasnt enough for everyone to have two. Ya never know. I'd bring it up, but be polite in doing so. You don't want to get on the bad side of your kid's teacher. While a good teacher won't take something like that out on your kid... there's a lot who would. Don't wanna end up making your kid hate school cuz the teacher treats him differently because you got mad over cookies... ya know? Just bring it up nicely.
I was ticked the other day cuz I sent 12 apples, cored and sliced (put put back together so they wouldn't turn so brown) and caramel into class for their halloween party. Turns out they didnt even USE them cuz the teacher "didn't know" they were already sliced... despite my daughter repeatedly telling her. I was so fumed... since obviously by the END of the day they WERE brown and useless. $5 bag of apples for nothing, plus now I have two tubs of caramel I'll never use. Oh well.

I don't think that you are wrong at all. You bought those cookies for a d@mn good reason (your son's birthday). Take a deep breath and find out EXACTLY what happened. Then if they did take the cookies get your money back from those people. Don't stress to much, but i get where your coming from. It's not that they took the cookies, but that they took your son's cookies on his birthday. Thats just wrong.

I'd go and see the teacher first in person to find out what happened. It sounds like they were probably shared by the staff, which isn't what you wanted, but its best to go and ask what happened to them to the extra cookies so you aren't jumping to conclusions. If that's not what happened, you'll look and feel silly if you send in an angry email and that's not what happened. Take a day or two to calm down and then calmly find out what happened.

are there chubbier teachers at his school? That could be the reason why they were gone and like you said put in the lounge. That is pissing just being an 11 year old... kinda know the pissed off feeling. Everyone does!!! Well, Maybe the teacher kept them for her/himself or something which totally still isn't right. Shame on them! Maybe bring that right up to the teacher. That sucks!

What good would it do to email his teacher? She may not have been the one that took the cookies. i would calm my temper and then I would go to the principal and tell him/her about it and tell him from now on you are going to deliver the treats right to the class room and you were going to inform othere parents what happened so they could do the same thing

It's the thought that counts not the quantity. The class still got their cookies. If you call or e-mail it probably won't fix anything. Just look at it as a lesson learned.
If you still can't let it go, e-mail the principal.

Don't jump to conclusions. You do not know what happened to the other pack. You dont know if the post-it fell off and they couldn't deliver the cookies.
You should let them know that you dropped off 2 packs, and just wondered what happened to the other one.
This way you make it known that you know the other pack didn't make it, but you are not accusing anyone.
Happy birthday to your son!

That's theft. It doesn't matter where it happens, you bought them for a specific purpose and left it in their charge. I would go and make a complaint at the school office.
Personaly, I wonder if they would stoop to stealing something that little what else would they steal?
