What do u really want us to tell u? I mean, its no big deal. I mean to stick a pad or tampon on and live life. Then when the weeks over, ur fine. Tell, her its not a big ordeal cause everyone (every girl) has it and we all deal with it once a month for 3-9 days so just tell her to accept it. :)

Tampons are evil. Disposable pads are a close second. Drugs are bad. If you are having cramps, you need to adjust your diet - B 50 complex and added B6, avacodoes are a good source, as is nutritional yeast and nuts.
For the flow, reusable mentrual cups are the way to go. I know it sounds odd, but you wash them every time you empty them. Tampons leave bit sof themselves inside you, and they absorb your bodily fluids (besides the blood), hindering the bodies natural flushing process. Pads are also drying, though to a lesser extent, and they are terrible for the environment. The production of both pads and tampons invovles a chlorine bleaching prcess which has a side effect of serious pollution and ozone depletion, so if you must use these products, go to your health store and get oxygen "bleached" products, they are better for you and the environment.
I have a DIVA cup, it is made from silicone, there is also a product called 'the Keeper" which is made of natural rubber. You should be able to find one of these products at your local health food store.

Don't freak out, millions of women menstruate each month. I like Instead cups, some like tampons, some like pads. Find her some of these products, or go to the school nurse. It's an exciting time, if not a little akward at first.

its ok. i just got mine for the first time last week. take a deep breath and i advise you, no matter what your mom says, to get some tampons. use light to regular tampax brand. if your not comfortable with tampons, use pads, and get panty liners and regular to heavy pads. don't tell anyone except maybe your mom and your close friends. usually, your period will last from 3 to 7 days, and if it looks like it stops after 3, don't be fooled. it might not show up for a couple hours, but then WHAMO, hit with a splash. leave a pad on until your 6th day, even if it looks like it stopped. if you do any sports (soccer, swimming, fall ball, ect.) wear a tampon if you can. and only talk to your friends who already had it, because you will either gross your other friends out or bore them to death. try and relax at night and don't sleep in any weird positions. i suggest on your stomach. evetually it will get easier to talk about to your mom. try not to get in a fist fight because of pms. pms will make you cranky and eritable. if you have anymore questions, email me at apecharka@hotmail.com i'll try my best to help you out, and don't worry 1 week goes by like that! good luck!
luv,

Tell her to calm down, that she was born a woman and she is going to live with this for 30 o 40 years.
I STARTED AT AGE 10, NOW I'M 39, THAT'S 29 YEARS NOW.
Show her all the works, tampons, napkins, pills (for the cramps), etc.

tell her clam down... it's a part of life. and that she should be happy because now she's officially a "woman". explain it ot her a little and tell her she should speak to her mom about it. becuase u know, she's gonna have to start buying/using pads or tampons and pain relivers. so she should discuss this with her mother or whoever is her guardian.
